Foreign webmasters, how many small checks do you have that you can't cash?
How many small checks do you have laying around that you can't or won't cash because of bank fees. Isn't it like $10 euros in some places with a 30 day wait?
|
I usually take wires and I've set my minimum to $500 or $1000 usually.
I do however occasionally get $15 to $50 checks from places I haven't promoted in a while. I just throw those away. It costs ?30 to cash a check at my bank. :1orglaugh |
Easy answer - NONE - I switched to a bank that charges nothing.
The only check that i newer cashed was my first one - 35$ from asianplayer RIP |

I got about 100 checks that are worth 35$, I dont want to cash them, because it takes to much time........
|
It use to be AU$10 per cheque at my last bank but I just switched and even if I take 10 cheques in, the girl does them all for $7. Fucking brilliant. She's meant to charge me $7 each but hey I'm not complaining!
|
i got ma first check of USD 0.03 from zazzle in 2001. !! LOL !!
|

I dont like to use only-check-sponsors, I always try to replace those with anyone who can pay by wire or paypal.
Anyway, if I get a check I usually cash it, even if its just ~35$. But I always collect a couple of them before I go to the bank. :2 cents: |

My bank charges about $3
|
I've got 3 of them laying around somehwere, they're like $20 of programs I hardly promoted, cashing them will cost me 12 euro, so it's pretty much worthless....
|
My bank charges $15 per transaction, so I can cash how many checks I have in just one transaction. The wait is anywhere from 30 to 45 days.
|
................they charge you 15$...... to cash a check ........?.......
|
Here in sweden they charge $17 for each check I cash, doesnt matter if they are fro same company/bank........u guys understand why I get 70% of my payment to epassporte huh? :1orglaugh

Many european countries have stopped using domestic checks years ago.
|
30days wait, so usually wire is more preferable

My first bank charged 19 Euro per check and I had to wait 7 days to get the money.
Now I found a bank who is charging nothing, but I have to wait 30 days now... |
I have a few at home, but the smallest are at 30$, so the fee is too high, but what should I do. In general I increased the payout to 200$
|
yup, they take $20 each and it took 45 minutes to cash
four checks for me last time. Two checks (partypoker) they needed to take $70 because they was written in dollars but made out in UK. The worst thing is that you need to pay the whole amount of money if they bounce back. btw, that was the last time I used checks.. will be the last time. :helpme |

So you'll end up with only $14 in profit. |

?30 Not worth my time. I'd rather not wait in line to get ?10 in 30 days. |
My bank charges $AUD10 per batch, an "unlimited" number of cheques are processed as a total USD amount. I'm sure there is some limit, but I've put in 10 cheques at time without any probs. $AUD10 is about $USD7. I get them cleared on the spot.
I also need to add that it hasn't always been this easy with the bank. There was one time the manager went away and no one else wanted to be responsible for cashing my cheques. Just about everyone knows me now and knows that I get the funds cleared into my account immediately. |
Since my bank doesn't charge me I cash every cent I've worked for. Just collect some put them in an envolope and put them in the mailbox. Takes me longer to open the envelopes than to cash in the checks.
My experience is that smaller banks, with smaller offices are easier to work with. My bankoffice is staffed with just 1 single person (the "owner") and he will do about anything for his clients while the big banks, with 39 desks, that make you draw a number threat you as just that: a number |
In Poland you can cash a check for only $5 but some banks will tell you it will be realised in 6-8 weeks :1orglaugh
|
we'll buy them
|
In germany you won't get problems when cashing in checks I just collect them over 30 days and cash them in for a fixed fee of a few euros (5-12EUR, depends on your bank). They don't want percents of your money and if you use a bank like the Postbank (belongs to the Citigroup) you can just mail them the checks and they won't ask questions like the average bank teller does who wonders how you earn your money.I never had a problem with check releases, I get the money when I cash in the check, no problem. My min. payout is at least at 100$ so I don't have to worry that fees eat up too small checks.

It aiin't nothing bad arround here . It's 5 $ normally but they never charge it to me
|
I only use sponsors that pay either by wire or epassporte now...
|
About 15 dollars a check.
It used to be like $50 a check but then I theathened to pull away my mainstream business. I need to wait about 4 days and I dont have any checks laying around. I always set a minimum payout of $300 to $1000 |
i've a $12,95 check on my desk i can't cash
