    I'm driving 4 hours to cash a fuckin check!

    I'm heading to either Houston or Dallas tomorrow just to cash a check. My stupid ass bank decided that after 3 years of sliding these same checks through that they will have to put a hold on this one because "it's too big".

          They normally don't do nothing to my checks that are under 2k . When it's over, they unfreeze 2k and the rest stay frozen for a month (us checks) . Fucking bullshit

              These fucks know us personally. They've cashed big checks before with us only having a few bucks in the account no questions asked. I guess this one crossed their threshold and they wouldn't clear a dime of it.

                                  i have never had a bank hold a check...wierd...we have a great relationship with them though....very good track record and not one bounce yet...knock on wood

                                      By the way, I contacted 2 check cashing places locally and they wanted 7% and 10% of the check to cash it. And this was after they called both the bank it was drawn on and the company that sent it to verify.

                                      I know the next business I want to start.

                                          We've put so much damn money through this bank and we know everyone in it. Normally I wouldn't even give a shit about them holding it but they acted like we were con artists or something. Fuck em.

                                                  My bank always holds a large check unless the check is from one of their own banks. It is SOP that $100.00 is released upon deposit. I think twenty five percent is released in four days and the balance is released in seven days.

                                                  Why are you driving anywhere to cash it? Why not just wait for the funds to be released?

                                                                                                              We deal with 2 banks. One of our banks is horrible, they want to hold everything. The other bank will cash any amount without a hold. The manager even went so far as to make a note on our account to not hold any of our U.S. checks so that if we go to another branch they will not give us a problem.
                                                                                                              Of course we rarely use the bank that wants to be anal about things....those who work with me get my business, those that don't work with me don't deserve my business.
