There's no other purpose for a computer and the internet that's worth the trouble.

True, too many viruses. fuck the pop ups and you can keep the spam. But I do enjoy ebay whenever Im looking for shit. And I can go on for days about google :thumbsup . Guess it just depends on what you're looking for.

Argh, I've been using almost nothing but the internet for years and years. I would be lost if I had to stop buying things over the internet, call people instead of instant messages, go to a library to look things up, use a phone book and horror of horrors - WRITE!

I can barely read my own writing anymore since I've been typing everything up for 10+ years! :(

Tell me about it. People give me the weirdest fucking looks when i have to fill out a form or something. My writing was bad to begin with, but now everybody thinks i write in arabic.

I hear ya! Plus the internet provides much of my entertainment. It's the only way I get exposed to new music, the computer is plugged into my home theater system like any other component.

I guess it's dependent on your surfing habits. I don't have a spyware problem.:glugglug

Jesus... get ZoneAlarm firewall (freeware), get Adaware and Spybot (both freeware) for cleaning the spyware, get windows xp or 2000 (they don't crash) and a decent antivirus program like AVG antivirus (free).

And get spamfighter for spam (outlook)

I beg to disagree since for me internet is really helpfull through this Ill be able to talk with my friends & relatives abroad... without spending tons of cash!
