What's up with PimpServer?
 

I can't log in to my account via FTP.

My pages still come up, but there is no advertising header or footer.

The pimpserver.com link leads to a 404 page.

What's up?

One good word of advice...

Always give a server that is acting funny to fix itself... most of the time the people on the other end are working on the problem and are fixing it as fast as they can..

So if you cant login then try again 24 hours later it should be all fixed by then.

Just be thankfull that your pages are still up. Its when those go down to that you have to really start worring.

Actually, I haven't been able to access FTP for about 4 days now.

I do see now that the 404 page is gone.

FTP still not working yet.

Yes, I know that this is freehosting and you get what you pay for.

I really like Pimpserver and so I will be patient until this gets resolved.

Shocker, Please dont start a piss here, Iam only using your phrase here, this is not intended towards you at all. I respect you, I just need to say something here.

I won't speak for all Free Hosts, but I do have to let you know how my operation works.
We have 2 full time techs, (the best in the biz may I add) 1 full time graphic and tech combo. A live secretary, 2 webmasters that do various things, such as spot check accounts for cheaters etc... And My partner and Myself... We try to run a class act with all our hosting. We monitor all servers 24/7, we offer 24/7 email support (as long as I'm awake..LOL) Phone support upon request. And numerous customer support features. So with us, you get WAY MORE then you pay for.

Like I said Shocker, this is not directed towards you at all. It was just the right place for me to get this out in the open.

Lightning is right, you get more from some free hosts than others. Thats for sure! He answered a stupid e-mail of mine last night in about 2 minutes of recieving it.
If your having a problem with Pimp Server go to their board and ask Denis or hunt him down on ICQ. He's pretty good and should get back to you with an answer.

Pimpserver Rules!

I am not pissing on Pimpserver, please read my entire post.

Going to their board for answers is a good idea, but since I said that I got a 404, then the board is not accessable.

A support email address was also not available with the 404 page.

Actually, the only reason I made my "you get what you pay for with a Freehost" comment was to avoid everyone jumping on me to get my own paid hosting if I wanted top notch service.

Didn't realize that I would get slammed from the other side.

Once again, I like Pimpserver (LightningFree and Smutserver too). Just trying to find out what's going on.

Guys we are working hard to fix this problem. As many of you know we had a problem with our ftp server for quite some time. We tried various hardware methods to fix this problem over the course of last week. All of your sites where still up and running through this whole procedure. We finally have a solution and got 2 new powerful web servers. Our techs are installing the new boxes right now. All members will receive a mailing from us by the end of the day. The new setup will allow ftp to be up and running at all times.
