Sponsors. You beter start including a description for each of your hosted galleries.
 

Damn. It takes me 8 to 10 hours to write 3 to 5 words descriptions for about 1,000 sponsor's hosted galleries. What a waste of my time that can be used to build more web pages to make more dough.

I think from now on, I will no longer use hosted galleries links that doesn't include a description!

I started a shitload of threads about this allready. Sponsors need to wake up, I think some are missing serious traffic from the lazy webmasters who add FHG with descriptions in bulk.

Braincash is planning to create 2 and 3 word descriptions, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 55 and 60 carateres description for each of our hosted galleries + thumbs :)

Since we have more than 6000 hosted give us a few weeks ;)

the files also have the number of movies on each gallery, so you can import it instantly into your TGP/MGP script


webmasters can use their time for different stuff than to write descriptions for hosted galleries.

My god webmasters are getting lazy.

* First it was providing content (ok, needed in most cases)

* Then it was hosting the galleries (how hard is it to make your own that won't be saturated like hosted ones are?)

* Next it was providing 88x88 thumbs. (Come on, are you really that lazy?)

* Now it's wanting descriptions made up

This biz is a JOB right? What's wrong with WORKING and doing your OWN WORK? Since when are the sponsors suposed to do all your work for you? This is a sad trend I have been noticing lately. Nobody wants to actualy work, but they want all the money that comes from work

It's not about us being lazy. Thereis so many hours per day and you can't spend 200 hours just to write descriptions to 20,000 galleries, and by the time you are finish there are another 20,000 galleries waiting. Thus, you could spent all yourworking hours just writing descriptions.

That time, could be better spent.;)

what next? Webmasters want someone from the sponsor to come and cash their sponsor checks and do groceries for them?

I understand that there are only so many hours in a day, but that doesn't mean people can't do their own work. People managed fine long before sponsors started catering to people afraid of work.

There weren't 100,000 hosted galleries plus 1,000 new one each week back in the day. Now you just cannot keep up without a little help from the sponsors. I think my job as an affiliate is to send them as much target traffic as possible to their paysites, not spend my waking hours writing descriptions for their galleries.

a completely agree, you cant just import and have the site run. you have to put some effort into it, if you want to make money you have to rough it up dig deep, and work for it. do the grunt work, the big sponsors work hard to run a hard solid program, if their sites convert you can think of catchy words.

its your marketing that makes your site sell.

At $0.10 per gallery, it gets expensive. plus, it isn't exactly the same as hiring someone to review or submitting galleries.:)

We only have the 5 image galleries for now, and the 10 video gallleries. Our exclusive content is all video, so that's really our focus. We will be releasing a few more shortly.

Also, some people have been writing me telling me that the descriptions are too long. That's right htey are, but you can easily copy one of the two lines and use that. :)

How about worrying less about lazy webmasters and more about the logic that if someone puts time and money into providing a marketing tool, he would usually want it to be as widely used and as effective as possible.

Hosted galleries can appeal on two levels: the chance to earn money and as potentially easier to handle than submissions. Most fail on one or both counts. Now there are getting on for 100,000 hosted galleries available, TGP operators can afford to pick and choose. In fact with 2,000+ new galleries and maybe 1,000 deleted every month, being selective is more a necessity than a luxury.

My "lazy" webmaster wish list:

1. No redirections or popups on the galleries themselves.
2. Delimited text listings ready for bulk importing (don't use commas as delimiters if your referal codes include commas!).
3. Descriptions.
4. Thumbs.
5. Categories.

A large number of galleries are not scannable. If any of 3-5 are not available, users of TGP builder programs have to prepare everything manually before porting the details into their software. Realistically, with so many galleries available, most will just move on to the next sponsor.

With so many galleries being deleted every month, being unable to scan galleries also means that TGP's using hosted galleries are increasingly littered with broken links. The first time you try to check all your links visually, I can almost guarantee you will dump all the sponsors you can't use software to check in future.

Forget about so-called laziness. With as few as 10,000 galleries, I can list 100 "new" galleries a day for 3 months and run decent-sized archives. If I can afford to pick only 1 gallery in 10 from those which are available, which am I going to choose: the appealing ones that are easy to use, or....?

For all those complaining about having to write thousands of descriptions per week... you shouldn't be listing thousands of free galleries per week, you fucking idiotic smacktards.
