TGP Owners - Would you blacklist me for this???
If I had a gallery listed on your site and one day it redirected to a page like this
http://www.sinxxxchange.com/links/removed.jpg If I don't have the 2257 documentation in hand by the time the new rules go into effect the pages will have to be deleted. Would you just delete this one gallery from your database and allow me to continue submitting or would you just see "redirect" in your script and blacklist me forever? Would it be better to just have a bunch of red X's where the thumbs (and sexually explicit design elements) used to be but leave the page intact? Please discuss. |
I'd try and contact the webmaster to see what was up...(well of course the new 2257 shit)
If I didn't get a reponse, I'd probably just delete it. |
i don't think they would blacklist you for complying with the new laws. i am the king of messing up (involuntarily) and most of the tgp owners have been very cool with me.

It'd be better to live in Canada.
Seriously though .. I think most people use scripts these days that are at very least, intelligent enough to find redirects. You may get black listed a lot of places, with no manual intervention. |
My script bans over 100 people a day...mostly because of redirects...I can't possibly go through 1000 submissions a day
|
If you dont contact them and the script catches you then I would say that you would get blacklisted. Im sure they would un blacklist you once you got ahold of them.

What would you prefer? Delete all the images and have a page full of red X's (I'm thinking this may be the way to go) If a surfer clicks the red x obviously they'd get 404'd, so I'd need a very friendly 404 page.....perhaps the one I put a screenshot of above. Personally I think that webmasters who are concerned with their sites being legal are exactly the kind of webmasters you want submitting to your TGP's so I'd like to find some way most of us can agree on to not blacklist webmasters who are just trying to stay out of jail. :2 cents: |
I was under the impression the new laws don't apply to content shot prior to the law passing?

i'd have you remove the link to your home page, and just link back to the tgp

The law itself says it's NOT retroactive, although having documentation is a good thing in a general sense.
