Sony DCR VX2100, discontinued?
 

Went to buy a replacement camera today (Lost mine, don't ask) and the Sony Store told me it was discontinued and there's only 3 units left in Canada.. They didn't know what it was being replaced with, or if it was being replaced at all.. Anyone shed some light on this? Should I hold off on the replacement camera and get an upgrade if it's coming? Thanks.

how strange... my guess is they were talking about the VX2000, but since you were there and know your stuff, this clearly isn't the case... now i'm intrigued

i wonder how that's gonna affect my 5-year extended warranty?

I wouldn't think warrenties would change, only availability of the units... I'm gonna phone around and see what I can find, but a heads up would be useful :)
