I believe the minimum requirements is 1 GHz processor and 256MB RAM. Since when was a Voodoo2 in 32MB? I used to have 2 of the 12MB Voodoo2 cards from 3DFX running in SLI mode.

PS: Some of the 512MB cards due out this fall will be available for SLI mode DROOOOL

Doctor Dre 08-03-2004 10:48 AM

Don't tell me you work on that computer DarkJedi ... or I suicide myself ... damn that's one slow ass computer :)

macho 08-03-2004 10:49 AM

Won't you need 2 agp slots?

Good question, I don't know... I assume if you had 2 512MB cards running together in PCI slots that you wouldn't need the extra power from the AGP slot ?

Vitasoy 08-03-2004 10:52 AM

Will the game even let you install the game?

FrankWhite 08-03-2004 11:00 AM

Todd Hollenshead, id's chief executive, said Doom 3 will require:

? A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500.
? 384 megabytes of memory.
? Two gigabytes of hard drive space.
? An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better.
If your existing rig doesn't meet these specs, here's a guide to beefing it up to play Doom 3 in all its gory glory.

Basic_man 08-03-2004 11:01 AM

Hell no for sure! hehe

Explicit 08-03-2004 11:16 AM

how can u ask that question, siply read one review on the game and youll have an idea that you do infact need a decent computer to even think about runnin the game

2 gigs of hard drive space???

Is that high or have I just been away from gaming too long?

Trent Edison 08-03-2004 12:35 PM

Sure u can play. You'll need to switch your screen resolution to 32x32...

NinjaSteve 08-03-2004 12:59 PM

Can you even surf the inter web with a 333? Damn! :1orglaugh

DarkJedi, you're only mildly funny. ah.... ah....

(also, voodoo2 were only in 8 and 12 megs variety.)

Tom_PMs 08-03-2004 01:11 PM

nah.. I have a 2 ghz celeron in this computer with a geforce2 mx400 card (64mb) and 1 gig of ram.

Even on the lowest quality settings at 640x480 it's all herky jerky.

Just upgraded the drivers, but not expecting much, if any, improvement.

Maybe theres a third party opengl driver or something.

Wolfenstein runs great on my setup though :1orglaugh

Gasper 08-03-2004 01:16 PM

DarkJedi I believe you have a faster cpu :) How would you insert a RADEON 9800 into a motherboard with pentium 333?? :321GFY

Your processor and ram is okay, but the graphic card sux. Buy an gf fx 5700 or 5900 or more.

Tom_PMs 08-03-2004 01:51 PM

Yeah, the problem is I have a thin case, so I had to get a half-height graphics card.. The driver upgrade didnt do squat as expected.
I could probably jam a full-height pci card in there and leave the case top/side off, lol.
The computer was free with purchase of the laptop, so I'm not complaining too much.

kinkage 08-03-2004 01:56 PM

just wait for doom 3 to come out on xbox. They designed the damn game for it anyways.
