yeh it's a valid point. In my 10 yrs working online I have done tons of 6 and 7 fig. deals with alot of the big companies out there, never once had a contract either, never.

All I am trying to say is that it's allways better in my opinion to try and resolve this offline first, call, email, etc. then if that doesn't work out, well it's time to get pissed I suppose :)

We went from our bbs system, to selling adult cdroms online in 1994. mostly ads on usenet, etc.

We were one of the largest adult cdrom dealers / distributors in the world. We sold along with Fay (sharpie), Lee Noga, and a few others.

It was soooo easy green :)

What you are experiencing is the biggest problem with large conventions. It is very expensive to have a big party, so much so that mutiple sponsors have to participate to lower their costs. But how many is too many --- would it be better to limit the number of people at the party? Wouldn't you be more upset if there was no room for all of your own guests?

Exposure is not cheap at Internext --- and come Monday morning most people don't remember which parties they went to, let alone who sponsored them.

Internext is a fun show, its great to see everyone in one place. But people need to be mindful of the sponsors and make a real effort to do some biz with them for their efforts. The sponsors of all tradeshow parties do it to support the industry and treat everyone to a good time.

THEY should have notified the current 6 sponsors letting us know that they fucked up and dont know how to budget thier money and that they are so so so sorry and would we mind there being 3 other shitty sponsors on the ticket to cover xbiz's ass.

Very well said Steve. The biggest internext parties are the ones I hardly remember too. I'd much rather be at a VIP party or smaller crowd with people I know and work with.

I've been to 50 conventions over the last 4 years, almost in a row. I can tell you from experience, there is no perfect event, ever. There will be lots of problems, and dealing with them together is what has brought us closer to a lot of good companies.

If there are 9 sponsors at 6k each, that ain't alot for a BIG-size crowd -- you should feel lucky to find any co-sponsorship for under $20k
