Would you use a 404 trap?
I hate popups, exit console hell and the like, I don't think they really make for more sales.
In the interest of more income though, thinking about a 404 exit trap? Exit management is important. So an exit console can be ok. Esp an offer for a trial or whatever. I'm talking about TGP traffic here. A deleted gallery whould put them in the trap, not sure I like that... discuss please. |
I don't know. I think it depends on what kind of traffic you have. If you have bookmarkers it's too risky.

yep 30% bookmark traffic and growing SE traffic

conversions have been for shit recently - last couple of weeks

Send your 404 traffic to my click-thru program, Impure Thoughts.
You get $35 for each 1000 clicks you produce and you don't have to worry about maintaining any kind of ratios. :winkwink: |
Exits do make money. I use them regularly and sparingly.
On the main or internal pages of TGPs, I think that's a bad idea, however, on paysite close and full page ad close, the work great. I use text/tables etc to make my pages. My pages all load under 6 seconds flat over 28.8 even on some of them I use a few thumb accents. I also cookie my pops. if=seen then go to other.url, becuase with the amount of pop traffic that I have, surfers are bound to see it more than once sometime, from some other full page ad somewhere. If they're cookied, then they get to look at a diffetent ad this time, and next time and next, etc. Exits work great. traps do not, IMO. |
epiccash's hosted 404 trap does great.
