Really, what don't you like about ME. Been using it for a while now and I like it alot. Much better than 98 which was much better than 95. What problems are you having?

It hasn't fried my motherboard like Win98 did...well, not yet anyways....

I also love Windows ME. I know that a lot of people hate it, including Tech Tv's Screensavers, but it works just fine for me. I'd never go back to Win 98.

Seems to depend on the hardware a bit too. I had a 700mhz compaq with an AMD chip with windows ME and it was a piece of shit from day one. Now I have an Intel P3 w/1ghz winME and it runs great. Software can eventually cause conflicts in the registry that can be headaches too... so .........
I think it's a little better but MS can still Go Fuck Yourselves for not having solved all these problems by now so our computers never crash!!

I run an amd k6-3 450 under winME and I tell ya, I'm astonished that I manage to get 3-4 days uptime out of it. Jus goes to show that a crappy OS can sometimes surpass expectations.

JAC.... hey you........ I have WinME and I hate it too........ it's way more unstable on my machine than win98 was. I am on a Sony VAIO 800MHz P3...... and I don't much like it.

And no I have not been hiding... in fact I have been on the boards more in the past few days than I had been for nearly a month........ LOL

I am on a 1.5 ghz P4.....Win ME lasted about 3 days before I reformatted and installed win98......a long and painful process I tell ya.. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

I'm with you JAC. WinME sucks. It is not that different at all from 98 and it is NOT stable. Get a real OS, go with 2000 Pro. I have yet to successfully crash it, and believe me I stress tested it!

I couldn't agree more. Actually, I think they should package and sell it under that name!

I got a new desk top a few months ago with it already loaded, I thought what the hell, I'll give it a try....I wish I would have wiped the thing clean and loaded my 98 back on.

You can't even find a new one out there with anything loaded on it but "Fucking Windows ME" or 2000 any more. I found this out when I was looking for a Lap Top.

I've talked to quite a few techs, and they all can not say enough bad things about ME, but supposedly a patch/upgrade is due out in late summer/early fall to fix all the current bugs. All I have to say is it damn well better be free for all the aggravation it's caused.
