A relative of mine is a fisherman in maine, and hes just informed me of quite a lobster catch. Hes got several 6+ pound lobsters. He said hes also got a couple of 8/9 pounders...

After the things that happened after my last lobster-dinner in Vegas, no thanks!

after 3 or so pounds they lose flavor and tenderness. still taste good but you've got to know what you're doing when you cook them, no room for error

I haerd the same about the size.

Make sure you check with someone that has cooked a lot of them before you do, or that may not come out as good as you had hoped.

Maybe if it's a Red Lobster lobster. Those lobsters have the texture of rubber...But a fresh lobster fresh out of the water in Maine? I don't know. I'd at least try it.

But it's true, the smaller lobsters have the best flavor....Some of the best lobster I've ever eaten were the small Caribbean lobsters...Ummmm Ummmmm

i'm a maine lobster expert bro :). i lived in southern maine for 18 years before i went off to school, and a good part of my last 10 years there were spent on the water. the big ones are fun and have alot of meat, but if you aren't getting them for a great price i'd go with smaller ones.

never eaten at red lobster. i learned young to tear into a lobster and not leave any good meat left inside it... can't imagine getting that dirty in a public place!
