Bomb goes off in central Prague
 

A bomb exploded under a car outside a casino on a downtown street in the Czech capital Sunday, wounding at least 18 people, many of them foreign tourists, authorities said.

The bomb went off just after noon in a popular pedestrian zone in downtown Prague where there are many restaurants and cafes. The injured included tourists from Britain, the United States, Germany and Slovakia, Czech officials said.

"We can rule out it was a terrorist attack," police spokeswoman Iva Knolova told The Associated Press. "It was a criminal act," she said. She refused to elaborate.

Pardon me for saying so, but isn't this an example of what a terrorist does? Murderers at least choose a victim or victims, do the deed, and be done. Serial killers prey upon a specific type. Random acts of car bombings, building bombings, etc. are not meant (usually) to get the attention of just one or two people. They are meant to get the attention of the entire area, perhaps even, like in this case, the attention of the entire world. By doing this, they strike terror in the minds of those affected, either directly or indirectly. That's what terrorism is.

Was the Oklahoma City Bomber a terrorist? YES.

Were the snipers of Maryland/D.C. area terrorists? I believe so.

I feel sorry for those people affected by the bombing in Prague. But I don't think it was just a "criminal act" that should be taken care of as one. And I hope it doesn't happen again.

No, terrorism is done for political purposes. This guy on the other hand seems like a criminal who attempted to kill someone.

Rather deal with a mafia than terrorists. At least one tries to keep others out of it whenever possible. Plus you generally know when you have pissed of the mob, unfortunatly terrorists have reasons that span generations.

but had you known the Israeli army closer you wouldn't be scared. There are so many different things to do in the army to fit for everyone. It is very diversified and not like anywhere else.

btw, in russia for example every male is supposed to go to the army. but there it's different. they don't ask you where you want to go, and don't examine you to find out your qualities and abilities, to find what fits for you best.

Like what? Hurricans, earthquakes, wildfires, politics, guns, or basicly anything that puts fear into us? I swear that is our countries problem, the news spends all but weather and sports scaring the fuck out of us.

yes, in Israel there is a great emphasis on security, but this does not concern these criminal families. They are Israelis by nationality but of course you wouldn't expect the Israeli government to take care of their security. I believe big mafia families have their security, no matter where they come from by source...
