the ring, ghost ship

they were pretty scary

also what was that one with the guy who lived in the glass house, and he trapped spirits in cages that were kept in his basement? i forgot the name but it was pretty good

my all time favorite and scarriest movie though, the name is "The Storm of the Century"

long fucking movie by stephen king, scarriest fucking thing i ever saw ... kept me glued to the screen for hours ...

Scary?
I don't know about scary but Ju-on and Ju-on2 were just about the creepiest ones I've seen.

Strife 07-31-2004 11:35 PM

I haven't been scaried that often as an adult...the most recent that comes to mind was The Ring

As a child I got freaked by The Shining, The Thing, Alien and Gremlins...to this day I remember Gremlins, for some reason, gaving me nightmares for days.

Holly 07-31-2004 11:36 PM

I'm tempted to say Jeepers Creepers just to bring all the haters out of the woodwork. :1orglaugh

I'd have to think about it, but I'd say the first Halloween with JLC would be up near the top.

hell yeah
Japanese ghost stories are fucking intense

"Dark Water" isn't super scary but rocks with surround sound...

baddog 07-31-2004 11:38 PM

I saw one that I think was called Ghosts (not with Swayzee) . . . it was pretty cool . . . the kind a girl digs her nails into your thigh when you're watching it

Satisfaction 07-31-2004 11:39 PM

yeh alot of people say the ring but it didnt do anything for me.. dont know why?.. i think im immune to scary movies now..

xclusive 07-31-2004 11:40 PM

Lil2rich4u2 the movie you were thinking about is Thir13en Ghosts it's pretty freaky and then there is house on haunted hill but of course there is the origional Texas chainsaw massacre...

fr8 07-31-2004 11:40 PM

haha. i honestly didnt mind the first one. it wasnt THAT bad. i really cant think of any EXTREMELY scary movies off the top of my head that have made me shit my pants although i am one to jump very easily in the cinema. i elbowed the girl i was with in the head a few weeks ago when i jumped.

Jakke PNG 07-31-2004 11:47 PM

I don't think I've been scared by a movie in over 10 years :(

However, I would probably get a bit nervous watching some decent horror clip when at my summer cabin alone, in the dark surrounded by pitchblack nature and forest. I should try that some time ;)

Anyways, when I was maybe 12 years old, or younger I remember seeing 'The shining' at a friends place in the winter, and then having to walk home in the snow and thru a park. God I was scared. lol :)

InsaneMidget 08-01-2004 12:20 AM

The new Chainsaw Massacre got me pretty good, mainly because a lot of people were screaming and jumping in the theatre, added to it a lot. Was a good time though.

sicone 08-01-2004 02:28 AM

altho not new... The Shining and The Exorcist

shermo 08-01-2004 03:06 AM

Nothing really scares me, but House of 1000 Corpses and Texas Chainsaw Massacre are are pretty twisted.

The Ring didn't live up to my expectations. i heard the Japanese version is much better. I should check it out.

Nicky 08-01-2004 03:11 AM

now that's a great movie with a twisted turn in the film

I always love to watch evil dead for a few good laughs...horror flicks are rarely scary unless you pick up some japanese stuff

Firehorse 08-01-2004 04:40 AM

I can't remember the last time a movie scared me. I do remember being scared by movies when I was very very young. :1orglaugh

Serge Litehead 08-01-2004 05:07 AM

when i was about 5 y.o. i sow this movie, can't remember it's name, but i still remember this part - after a lightning hit a plane which flew over a rain forest. the plane crushed, and there was only one survivial, a little girl about 10 y.o.
the scary part was looking at the crashed plane going down, hysteria of passangers, some were pulled out in their chairs. and then seeing that girl realising that she was all alone in the jungle, looking through dead bodies.
she made it through the forest though. remembering picutres from that movie still gives me goosebumps. movie was made in late 70s

RicardoB 08-01-2004 05:22 AM

Still waiting. They all are funny to me not creepy

alexg 08-01-2004 05:28 AM

Scary Movie

scared the fuck out of me :1orglaugh

Jdoughs 08-01-2004 05:33 AM

I think the scariest one for myself was The Exorcist. Another good one is Peter Straubs Ghost Story, more of a psychological horror then anything.

These movies are peanuts. If you want to get a real deep down scare read one of those books. I have never EVER saw a scary Stephen King movie, but the books are. And Blattys Exorcist book is just plain evil. The movies dont come close so if you like a scare and the movie did it,..read the book for sure

Definitely had to be one of the scarier, more recent movies. I loved it. Especially the twisted ending.

Though it wasn't scary, I also loved the twist to Identity.
