Debit Visa/MasterCard
 

Does anyone know where one outside the U.S. (I'm in Canada) can get a debit Visa or MasterCard?

I know of epassporte and paypal but I'm looking for alternatives.

Look down the page a little and you can learn about the pre-paid visa... Just do a pre-paid visa search on google and you will be all set. Hope that is what you were looking for?

There really aren't any visa/master cards in Canada attached to your bank account. In Canada, your only choices are the Visa Debit Card (link posted above) or if you don't qualify for a regular credit card you can try the HomeTrust secured credit card. You basically send them a deposit equal to what you want your limit to be. They keep the money as security and pay you interest on it. They then send you monthly bills for purchases just like any other credit card and you either pay it off or pay the minimum.

Open a TD account, then a TDWATERHOUSE account in NY. You will get a Visa ATM check card. Like a credit card, but you need the cash in the bank....

It's Cirrus-Maestro (MasterCard) no-name ATM cards issued.

I have that... Montly fee for the US is 3.95 ...

Not that I needed the ATM since I got a few Gold regular Visa's....
