There's a scene where Dave Mustaine crys during a therapy session with Lars. I haven't seen it yet.

xclusive 07-31-2004 06:16 PM

I can't wait to see this on IMAX it should rock... Hopefully I can free up some time on a weekday so it isn't crowded...

TheWildcard 07-31-2004 06:18 PM

I like it.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 07-31-2004 06:21 PM

To bad.... Allways liked Metallica better, but Dave was pretty cool. They had a website up in 96 I think, and I mailed Dave a couple of times then He was very nice to talk with. Also saw them in Stockholm 94 or 95 (don't remember the exact year). They rocked "Annexet" of it's roof :thumbsup

I love the old Metallica. All this therapy and shit, not to mention the new single has james hetfield saying "yea" like 57 times, makes me not want to see this movie at all.

Long live Kill Em All.

Kill 'em all has some of the best songs, but James voice didn't mature enough to sing them until the Master of Puppets album. Live recordings of Four horsemen and Seek and Destroy from 86 and forward really kicks ass!

Doctor Dre 07-31-2004 07:01 PM

Not my kind ... I like Metallica but not enough to go see a movie about them

RRACY 07-31-2004 07:03 PM

I like Ride the Lightning and they've done some great covers including Turn the Page.

Am I the only one old enough here to have had in my possession a copy of "No Life 'Til Leather"? ;-)

Hmm you got me there! I must have missed something! ;)
My first Metallica RECORD (yes record) was Master Of Puppets, thanks to my ex b/f when I was 14 for teaching me the wisdom of Metallica! After Justice For All I was pretty much done with them. Saw them live 3 or 4 times, I hate to say "sell outs" but I can't help myself. :(

no, but one of my tape trade buddies used to live out there so he swapped me that for a copy of a Cramps bootleg I came into possession of :)

"No Life 'Til Leather" was the demo that became "Kill 'Em All"

crockett 07-31-2004 08:15 PM

I think I'll download it for free, fuck those assholes they won't ever get another dime from me.

Living For Today 07-31-2004 08:18 PM

hehe aboslutely. one of the best bands of all time but i wont be giving anymore of my money to them.

SykkBoy 07-31-2004 08:52 PM

Then I'll go see it twice or pay to see it the second time and go sneak into The Village...

also, the money goes to the producers of the movie, not the band........the band has already gotten paid...

Firehorse 08-01-2004 02:12 AM

There are so many movies I want to make the time to see at the cinema atm. I might wait for that one on DVD. :)

slavdogg 08-01-2004 02:26 AM

OOOOOHHH YEAAAAAHHHHHH

havent gotten around to seeing it yet, but it heard from friends its well worth it.

shermo 08-01-2004 03:09 AM

I may have to see this. At age 6, these were the guys that got me into heavy music. I wish they hadn't have calmed down so much, but to each their own. :thumbsup

dennisthemenace 08-01-2004 04:09 AM

No opportunity for me to see it yet - still would need to drive an hour in any direction to see which obviously isn't happening.

Old enough to own that? You're not alone - but my interest in them didn't happen until I heard Whiplash for the first time which happened around the release of Ride The Lightning, which is when I officially became a fan.

kowntafit 08-01-2004 05:06 AM

If the album is anything to judge by it will totally suck ass. :2 cents:

They are still kicking ass even though Marty Friedman left the band.

Dave and the rest of the guys just cut an album, its coming out in September but its leaked (you can find it on suprnova). Its pretty awesome.

As for the hand injury, it was some sort of nerve disorder, he went to physical therapy and now he says that his hand is better then ever.
