Will There Ever Be Another Beatles?
i'm on AOL's music site playing videos, so i clicked on the Beatles and played it. As I was watching it I was thinking, will there ever be another Beatles? I'm not so much talking about the incredible amount of great music in a short period of time - i'm talking about the absolute bedlam and hysteria when they broke in America in 1964. In the 40 years since nothing has come even close to Beatlemania - it was insanity.
I think they were a once in a lifetime phenomena, the result of alot of things coming together at specific time in history that can't be replicated - well it can but it won't be anytime soon, it will take it's own unique set of circumstances to make it happen. if you're young and haven't watched any of the archival stuff and documentaries you won't understand what Beatlemania was. |
never say never. but they would have to be some innovative mother fuckers to get that kinda reaction.
|
I hope there isnt another way overrated band

Off course there will never be a 2nd for you ...
And it will never be the same ... because right now there is soooo many bands / artist to choose from ... But just go in high school and ask who is their favorite artist ... Eminem and 50 cent will be high ... But I really hate 50 . His stupid face wanna make me cry . He looks like a monkey . |

The Beatles were highly overrated, theres too much competition in each music genre to do what they did nowdays though

Probably not. Society is too fragmented nowadays.

I dont think so, they happened to be around in the era in time when people were a lot more innocent. that was the 60's, its now 2004, times/people have changed.
|
The Beatles were awesome and had the benefit of a unique time and set of circumstances.
|
nope.
They're wont...at least for a long, long time. and they're are many reasons for that. |
One word:
NO I don't think that there will be ever such a successful band like the beatles. And there also won't be a new "Micheal Jackson" with 70Mil sold albums. |

yes...I'm going to release them soon...working on it these days |
On this one I say there will never be another Beatles. There is too much to choose from now. No band will ever get the cult level status or overwhelming popularity that they had achived. So quickly and for so long

2pac was the only chance for the humanity, but society couldnt handle his size. Im gonna listen to his songs for the next 150 years which i have plans to live.
|
Screw that will there be another Ross Perot That is the Quastion?
|
I'm voting with the definitely not crowd. When the Beatles arrived radio was still playing music the kids parents listened to, and Ed sullivan was showing plate spinners and animal acts. Of course you were lucky then if you had a couple of TV channels to choose from.
It's been 40 years. Hasn't happened yet and will never happen again, unless perhaps there is someway to abolish the RIAA:winkwink: |

BEATLES FACT On April 4, 1964, the Beatles had the top five songs on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart -- an achievement never equaled. When the Beatles hit America |

Here's a short list of performers that were around at the time of the Beatles, so much for not enough competition. Rolling Stones. Bob Dylan The Hollies. Buddy Holly Elvis Presley The Kinks. The Animals The Yardbirds Otis Redding Ike & Tina Turner Wilson Pickett Eric Clapton Jefferson Airplane Grateful Dead James Brown Cream The Bee Gees Cilla Black The Dave Clark Five Spencer Davis Group Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky Mick and Tich Freddie and The Dreamers Gerry & The Pacemakers Jimi Hendrix The Herd Tom Jones Manfred Mann The Moody Blues The Move Traffic Pink Floyd Procol Harum Cliff Richard Cat Stevens The Swinging Blue Jeans Jethro Tull Status Quo The Monkees The Righteous Brothers Neil Diamond The Mamas & the Papas Donovan The Who Loving Spoonful The Bach Boys The Supremes Aretha Franklin Four Tops Temptation Stevie Wonder Smokey Robinson Martha Reeves & The Vandellas Jackson 5 Marvin Gaye The Birds The Small Faces The Shadows Sandie Shaw Adam Faith Plus many many more, I've missed out a lot. The reason there will never be another Beatles or time like the 60s is now it's all about marketing and presentation. They spend more time effort and money on getting the image and video right than the music. Most of the above served an apprentieship working pubs, clubs and dance halls. Now they get "found" before they have played live. I'm just glad I lived in a time when we thought good music was the norm. How many of the above could outsell tickets against todays artists? |
oasis were pretty close to it :2 cents:
