Just Saw "The Villiage."
What a piece of shit. Don't waste your money. If you're looking for a good horror movie...don't go see this. The previews make it look like a scary movie but it's really more of a drama. Nothing even remotely redeeming about the movie. I want my fucking money back.

He is right, they do string you along in the previews to think its a scary movie and it isnt but i still liked it . A lot of twists but not like in sixth sense where you are completely caught off guad.

Thanks for the heads up on The Village though. I thought that movie looked scary, now I'll just wait and "you-know-what" it. |
I went and saw "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle".
Great stoner flick. :thumbsup |

I just got back from the theatre. I enjoyed it.
It's not an action movie or a traditional horror movie. If you like hollywood-ish films, it's not for you. ... that's the nice way to phrase it - what I might also add is that people who need explosions and FX and eyecandy and/or traditional tired plots with cliche relationships/romances and established form, probably aren't the target audience anyway - we get enough movies like that. I like movies that just play with ideas. A movie can impress me just by being different. I can also deal with the story being moved along by pure tension. I don't need a money shot every 10 minutes to keep me interested. He writes people in such a unique way that I could just watch them talk to eachother for two hours. It's a typical M. Night Shyamalan movie, in that it has a strange character of it's own, in that it feels more like a small independent film, with the budget to hire name actors. This is one of those movies that some people will really love while others can't understand the appeal at all. |
Yea - I saw it tonight as well - very dissappointed :(

Yeah...tell us what the twists are. I really don't give a shit and don't plan on seeing it, so save me (us) the time.

- but without even the mainstream appeal of aliens. So, if you didn't like 'Signs', then you certainly won't like 'The Village'. I liked 'Signs' though. However, I also loved 'Punch Drunk Love' which just made all the Adam Sandler fans in the world go "ummm..huh? boooorring" |
