The End Of New York's Mafia Families?

NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Joseph "Big Joey" Massino, the so-called Last Don and reputed boss of New York's Bonanno crime family, was convicted of seven counts of murder Friday and faces a mandatory life sentence.

It's almost sad to see the last don out of all the notorious N.Y. crime families go away.

Interesting enough though, the Bonnano family, was the family infiltrated by "Donnie Brasco" in the '70s. Cool stuff.

Should of played it smart like chicago and had a guy in the government. New York was all leg-breakers, never did shit quietly and never reached outside the US. Thats their downfall

as long as there are drugs there will be organized crime, in every city and every state.

no one is going to do a damn thing to stop it either.

america was founded on bootlegs and illegal goods.

Yep, nothing was quite like organized crime in Chicago.

Still gotta admit, Capone was the shit. I hear in the area outside of Chicago where he grew up in(don't know the name of it), the people still talk of him like a hero or a god.

The Sicilian families are still intact and operating worldwide. They were always the real money and power behind the American LCN families anyway.

Yep for sure.

Reminds me of what Keyser Sosa said in The Usual Suspects:

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."

The mafia would definitely be smarter and more powerful if no one ever heard from them. Invisibility = invincibility.

fr8 07-30-2004 04:39 PM

Wouldnt worry to much with the "red" mafia getting bigger all the time.

LOL I agree and to think that there aren't "connected" people in our very own biz is a bit naive to say the least. :)
