Evel Knievel
08:00 PM ET -TNT-
Robert Knievel was born in the small town of Butte, Mont., in 1938. A life-long sports fan, Knievel's love affair with motorcycles began in the mid-'60s, when he formed "Evel Knievel's Motorcycle Daredevils." At first, he'd be paid a mere $500 for a jump; as his career progressed with more dangerous stunts, he'd make upwards of $1 million. Kids and adults alike marveled at his amazing jumps (and his equally amazing crashes). TNT examines the life and career of Evel Knievel with this new biopic

He was my hero, unitil he showed up at a bar here in Georgia and would not give me an autograph. He is the first and last person I would ever ask for their sig.

The band even intro'd him with Born to be Wild!

Just him being in the room, drowning his 2nd liver with a few pints was electrifying.

I got to talk to him for a minute or two.

I hope he breaks 600 bones!

That sucks, but seems about normal for him - saw some E! Hollywood true story or whatever kind of show on him, very self centered, very cocky, obviously very fucked up very often.

Certainly not the kindest, most understanding and humble being on the planet for sure. It's kind of a 50/50 shot in dealing with famous people, just like it is for non-famous people, weath and fame just make people a lot more of what they already are personality-wise.
