When I was a kid I had a shirt that read:

I know Kung Fu
and seven other Chinese words


I saw a girl wearing a shirt that said:

China today generally uses the term "wu shu" to describe their martial arts. Kung fu remains a popular term in America thanks to the plethora of kung fu films that have been distributed here since the early seventies.

king fu originated from wu shu, but i think they are different martial arts

that and two other facts:

1. there's no such language as Chinese - most liekely it's Mandarin (or possibly cantonese)

2> it's not even pronounced Kung Fu
that's just hopw americans say it.

Watch any Bruce Lee interview and you will distinctly here it is GUNG FU (or GKUNG FU)

it's hard to type becuase there is no such sound in English but it 's a gutteral sound that's kind oif across between a G and a K


but the closest enlgligh translation is actually gung fu
