Slowing down my Caffeine intake

and as many of you know, the withdrawls are pretty bad. Today, my head is really pounding.

Anyone have any advice? I am drinking a lot of water.

abuse dayquil for a day, and you'll forget all about caffeine

no more than a day, coz kicking dayquil is like kicking heroin

I will try that.

I have went down by about 20 percent a day less on my coffee, today, there was only about 5 swallows to be had.

This is the first day that my head has started the pounding.

Thanks,

Dayquil is an anomoly.

Funny you bring that up, I have often said that some of my best days are when I am sick and on Dayquil.

That stuff is crazy.

But doesn't it have caffeine?

not sure the cure for this but maybe not going cold turkey would help...

maybe go down to one cup in the morning then switch to decaf which has a tiny bit of caffeine then move on to defac tea or herbal.

make it a process not a leap off a cliff.

anyway, I just posted to say hi to you, haven't talked in a bit and just wanted to send you a :)

about 3 weeks ago i went on this medication and i can not have any caffeine. So I stopped cold turkey. I found i was very dizzy and lightheaded with a pounding headache....it took about a solid week with no juice to stop the withdrawl.

any pain killer to help ease the pain and time is all you can do. Oh also my 2 freinds are massage therapists so a nice massage actually helped relax me and kept my mind off the headache

Interesting. I've been cutting back on my Mountain Dew lately. Went from 3-4 cans to 1-2 cans daily and have been feeling a little "off" for a while now. Maybe that has played a part in it?

You head starts pounding because caffeine shrinks the blood vessels in your brain.. so without the caffeine the floodgates are open. :) Kind of like a reverse hangover.

It only lasts a couple days max.. take a couple tylenol and get through it.

It will get better...give it a couple days. Keep drinking water, and hang in there.

:thumbsup
