Vending can do very well..... I know some local vending companies and they do very very well.. Don't know about 12 Million well.... It is also a cash business too....

Goatse 07-30-2004 07:07 AM

From those numbers, you can extrapolate that he makes $3,000 a year per machine. Not bad. Does he rent them out or what?

I use to own a major vending business back in the days in Los Angeles area. No one makes $3000 a machine that's a complete BS.
I know this business from inside out.

I've got one Pepsi machine. LOL. Nice for extra spending cash.

A local guy had quite a few of them, mostly doing stuff under the table because it is so easy to do with all that coin.

He got divorced and his wife snitched to Revenue Canada, and they brought in forensic accountants to determine his yearly revenue and nailed him for years of back taxes and fines.

The wife was so stupid to do this because half the money came out of her settlement too!

I actually used to work for a vending machine company out here in Los Angeles also, If you can get yourself a good route with some good volume, and if you can own about 20 machines you could make some good money, the only problem is that you actually have to go out once a week and refill these machines up, so it could be profitable if you serious about that. A good machine costs about 3-4 k brand new, probably 1500-2000 used, but the problem is finding locations, arcades, gas stations (that don't have a mini mart) offices etc......

:2 cents:

4 arcade rooms that hold 10 reg arcade machines and 15 redemption machines and a spot to buy pizza will earn ya 8-12mil a year

many people who now own arcade spots started out with the routes

for 175k you can start 1 and with the new token machines you can monitor your business from anywhere, install a nice 16 channel cctv DVR system (about 2k) and really see everything.

Thats only $8 a day.... 16 sales a day of some 50 cent drinks or candy. Considering a lot of vending machines these days charge $1 for a coke, thats 8 sales a day.

And I just went and bought 48 Pepsi for $10 at the local gas station. 20 cents each. 80 cents per sale profit.

Do you mean no machine can make 3k aa year or do you mean that on average machines aren't making 3k a year? :)

The problem is getting good locations.. one idea is to find companies that have employees but no vending machines for them... put one in the break room and you'll get $10-20 a day if they have enough employees

nothing worth doing is ever easy.

he has all the good locations, hospitals, schools, etc. i dont doubt it for a second

Webmaster_Logic 08-03-2004 06:17 AM

it all depends on what part of the vending business you want to go in. I had 300 2 headed gum balls machines which i bought and was doing pretty good on. gumballs are great because they only cost 1 cent to buy and you make 24 cents profit.

I did the soda machine route what a pain

i did the snack chip routh what a bigger pain

i did the the hot food route just a plain frigin nightmare

but if you go with gumballs never buy a three headed machine go with a tw header. It will save you alot of money:thumbsup

It's a great business and I have a few but the way things are now you have to cut a good deal to get a location that is a premium and that means less profit for you but all in all it's a good business...

As mentioned it is all about location. I have some good locations available I may look at getting some vending machines set up. :)
