'Simpsons' takes on same-sex marriage
 

SUMMARY: The creators of "The Simpsons" have said the show would take on same-sex marriage in January, and one of the long-running characters would come out of the closet.

During a comic book convention in San Diego last weekend, the creators of "The Simpsons" promised the show would take on same-sex marriage, and one of the characters would come out of the closet.

"We have a show where, to raise money, Springfield legalizes gay marriage," producer Al Jean said in a quote published by the BBC. "Homer becomes a minister by going on the Internet and filling out a form. A long-time character comes out of the closet, but I'm not saying who."

HAHAHAHAHA, I've gotten that spam about becoming a minister too, that's hilarious that they're using it in the show. I don't think it'll be Smithers, my guess would be it would be one of the less "regular" characters, or a new one that they introduce for the sake of getting married, then you never hear from again. Unless it's Lenny and Carl.
