Drank to much. Got the shakes. help??!!

Been drinking alot of water and eating a little bit. I feel like I'm dying? Any suggestions to make me feel better?

2 glasses Macallan 18 yr + half a bottle of white wine + Sapphire on Rocks + 8 beers = BAD BAD HANGOVER

Webasic 07-29-2004 06:23 AM

good luck with that...by the sounds of it, you desevre it :winkwink:

The water, while good for you because alcohol dehydrates, is also soaking up whatever alcohol is in you and acting like a diluted drink. Try Gatorade or something that will put the electrolytes back in your system, but other than that, I don't think there's much you can do...hope you feel better soon!

Got some of that. Trying drinking a boost too. I wish I had thrown up. Would've been easier.

Just stop bitching

beemk 07-29-2004 06:48 AM

you need some sugar.

Project-Shadow 07-29-2004 06:58 AM

1. Drink one large glass of water (mineral water is best)

2. Spend 5 minutes vigorously exercising (i'm sure you can think of something)

3. Drink one large glass of water (again mineral water is best)

4. Spend 5 minutes exercising (not so vigorous this time :) )

5. Drink one small glass of pure fruit juice (grapefruit is the best)
....

Then vomit. :1orglaugh

genomega 07-29-2004 07:02 AM

Drink less, or don't mix so much. Gatorade is a good idea, but tastes like shit. Drinking water is good, but you would have quicker results if you drink water with gas (carbonated). Does not taste so good, but fixes me up in a couple hours with one small bottle.

strats 07-29-2004 07:25 AM

60 msm (methyl sufonyl methane) will kill it in 2hours (yes 60 tablets, I've taken 2 bottles before)

do a search on it if you care

When I was younger, and used to drink alot, I always found that taking a tylonel before I went to bed, worked great. And if for some reason I did feel like shit in the morning, gatorade and tylonel would help.

You're an evil man

When you drink that much, puking is a GOOD thing! That is, if there is any alcohol still in your stomach and it's not all in your bloodstream yet. I would drink a ton of water, and do the finger-down-the-throat thing to induce vomiting. How long ago did you drink all this, last night?

chase 07-29-2004 08:03 AM

Oh, yeah...I forgot to mention that typically people's body temperatures rise when they drink, which makes them sweat, which makes them lose sodium. Sodium deficit can cause headaches, body chills, etc. A lot of the typical symptoms in heat stroke are caused by a lack of adequate soduim levels. i know they say salt is bad for you, but just like fat and carbs, we NEED some of it to survive. they sell sodium tablets at health food stores...but in the meantime, use a fair amount of iodized salt before you drink to get your levels up. Don't know if it will work after the fact, but hey, it's worth a shot.

Chase is totally correct about the water acting as a diluted drink... gatorade, sugar soda is a better choice if you have to have something. One of the few things I actually enjoyed learning in college chem...haha

I usually fast until at least noon, sweat to burn it out, and then jump back in with both feet and start drinking again. Mimosas are a good start :winkwink: ... sugar from the OJ, a bit of carbonation from the champagne..... that's what I'm usually drinking in my "coffee mug" during the expos lol

Good luck!!

Cheers!
