2257 Clarifications.

Haven't been up with the biz much lately.
Could someone clarify what the new laws mean?

I'm hearing that thumb tgps that show explicit content need to have 2257 info. Can this be achieved by just getting your submitters to provide you with a 2257 link for their content, and you post it on your 2257 page or what?
Are they trying to say that every single gallery thumb that is displayed on a page needs to have records?

I feel bad for the TGPs that have thousands of galleries, and rotate randomly, if this is the case.....

I'm not so sure that it is even required. reading some posts on another board where their lawyer has posted a few things.

Well you could always just reject everyone without 2257 links for starters. No shortage of submitters is there?
Just curious :helpme

The new law states if you publish porn you need to have the 2257 documents, they have to be legal goverment issued Identification Documents (Passport, Nationa ID, Driving License, Military ID)

You need to keep the info in a seperate place to other business documents, you need to be on hand to allow the authorities to view the documents, you need to cross reference them with everywhere the model is published, all her names, nick names, modeling names, plus a whole lot more crap.

As the penalty for getting it wrong is up to 5 years in prison I suggest you call a lawyer.

There is a good thread about it on another board, the board owner paid his lawyer to write up an opinion.

You could read it that way. For now using softcore for thumbs would be prudent.
