holy shit people are stupid

I just got sold a $500 item at my store and got this email from the buyer 10 minutes later:

"I am sorry that I click the "Pay" icon by mistake.
Please cancel the transaction for item."

What a drag. What to do?

Karma or cash? :1orglaugh

Goose 07-28-2004 04:39 AM

lol that happens all the time...e.g. on ebay.
be a nice guy, and forgive him his stupidity :thumbsup

Tell him that you've forgotten how to cancel transactions :)

Just say "I don't speak English"

Roberto the Perverto 07-28-2004 05:15 AM

Tell him you are sending your Russian Sales team to his house, and he better have enough drinks for Ilya to be happy.

Cancel his order but charge an administrative fee

xclusive 07-28-2004 05:23 AM

Tell him that there is a %25 restocking fee for the item. Stores do it all the time.

That's a good idea! I'll do that.

i don't know why you are asking.

You know the right thing 2 do.

mistake = cancel the transaction

how can typing in your credit card number, your whole address, your phone number and going through 2 confirmation pages before you accidently hit the pay button be a mistake?

give me a break.

how would the clerk look at you if you bought something in a store and came back 10 minutes later saying it was a mistake?

i accidently tripped in to your shop and my credit card jumped out of my pocket and slipped in to the charging machine.. crap!

the item he ordered is already ready and packed up and has his name on it..

In most shops you have the right to return purchases up until a couple of weeks if unused :2 cents:

Yeah but most places will charge you "restocking" or other fees.

Stick to the plan and charge him a 25% restocking fee. If this guy is that dumb, he shouldn't have money or access to the internet in the first place.
