Strippers need naked pics for visas
Strippers need naked pics for visas
Women wishing to enter Canada to work as strippers must provide naked photos of themselves to qualify for a visa. The Canadian Embassy in Mexico says "stage photos during performances are required'', says Ottawa's CFRA radio. Immigration officers are having to pore over naked pictures of hundreds of exotic dancers to keep imposters out of Canada. In a memo to fellow visa officers around the world, officials said if a dancer passes the no-clothes test, they may then require a police certificate or medical examination. http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1035646.html |

So Canada has had problems with 1000s of 'fake strippers' trying to get visas? I don't get it...
|
It sounds stupid.....
...but these ladies are trying to get a visa in the same class as, say, Madonna. You need to be a legitimate entertainer to get one. Canadian dancers have been complaining that it is harder to get work, because of all the foreigners. The clubs claim they can't get enough local talent.... go figure. Also, these is claimed to be a big problem of foreign women being forced into prostitution after being duped into coming to Canada with job promices as *models* or music video actresses. The tightening of the visa checks addresses this, as well. |
but still, it is an awkward procedure :glugglug

every year some of my girls are in canada - they pretend they are just dancing there. :Graucho
do i now need something in my model releases that allow the models to receive sample pictures of their shootings and give them away again for immigration purposes? :1orglaugh |
Not stupid at all.
Thousands of girls from poorer countries such as Czech or Romania are recruited to dance here in Canada. The problem is that they are often told that they will be 'solid gold' type dancers, not strippers (solid gold the tv show). When they arrive they are pimped out to the clubs, and have to turn over most of their earnings to their 'agent' who holds their passports hostage. Clubs make deals with the agents to take groups of the girls, turn a blind eye to the abuses, and receive kickbacks. The intention of the immigration dept is to make sure these girls know what they are getting themselves into, it's not a bad thing.... |
lol, i'm confused:helpme
