Newbies, what base pay would you accept while being trained to work on commission?

Title.

Just taking a poll for reference in the very near future.

i'd say $1000 US would be a fair deal. but it would depend on the hours worked and the type of work required.

thekebie 07-27-2004 11:35 PM

$12.hour

But i dont know what the work is .

Weppel 07-27-2004 11:36 PM

75% of all that's earned.

I would have accepted $10 per hours back in the day to work with someone that I could have learn from.

the knowledge learned is worth more then the hours put in to learn it

Just my
:2 cents:

for a newbie just learning ?

I say 500$USD a month ... then a % of what they actaully make for the company. If they are not very productive deduct cash out of the 500$USD ... make the contract state clearly that if they are not productive that the salary will be cut

$10-$12 is a very fair rate.

stock, if you're serious about this, hit me up on icq when you need someone. i know someone who'd probably jump for the oppurtunity and would be great at it.

If it was me, I would just pay per project at a set amount.

But my last job, 3 days a week, 12 hour days (yep) came out about 400-500 a week or 10-15 a hour while I was being trained and doing extra "grunt" work for a amateur AVS.

Most people new to the business would, hell I would, love the opportunity to learn and make a little extra cash, so I think anything from 8-10 would be fair with a little extra incentive such as free training, free equipment, free hosting, etc
All of that is easily negotiable and a lot easier and cheaper to pay out then money./

Of course anyone reading this needs anyone, I'm free.. :)

depends of person and type of teaching.

if thumbs sites creating/trading - 50$/week + % from sales.

also i think i can give to newbie ready to go thumbs site with simple design + scripts etc

but it not extact price - all depends from person.

creegan 07-28-2004 08:17 AM

i've always wanted to set up a boiler roomesque type operation

i think any newb would say 10-15$ an hour but how many are even worth that? plus how would you regulate hourly unless you flew them to your office? give it to them per project

Nicky 07-28-2004 08:26 AM

Well i would have loved $10/h back in the day if I could learn at the same time and then maybe fit in some part of a bigger project from my employee or something

accually I can do work for $15/h if someone wants to hire me, but not more than 10h /week :-)

I have to much spare time :Graucho

Depends on what it is...If it's an opportunity of a lifetime, I'd do it for free. I'm not a newbie though and I wouldn't need the base pay in the first place. But i'm always willing to learn something new if it will make me more money.

Or I'd take payment in traffic

Odie 07-28-2004 08:37 AM

it would def depend on the time and who it was that was training me. Experience and knowledge is invaluable and can't be taken away from you. :thumbsup
