I hear if you soak your arms in ice water to thin the blood and numb the nerves its much more effective. also tie a plasting bag around your head with nylon cord, that way when you pass out from blood loss you will slip into a deep sleep, run out of air, and smother peacefully.

There is simpler, easier, less violent ways to do it then that, if you're going ahead with this let me know, ill be more then happy to give you tips.
