I only got to Ensenada this time. Was only there a few weeks ago.

But Mexico was great and is on the list for another visit.

NoHassleSteve 07-27-2004 08:15 PM

For a lot of Americans, leaving the country isn't just something you do in an afternoon or weekend.. as it can be in Europe.
So it's not that they have some kind of "Stubborn" streak that says "Screw the world".. it's just a matter of convenience.

And for those who have never left, they look at immigration/emigration numbers that tell them that people in (nearly) every country on the planet have filed papers to wait for their turn to get into America.

People vote with their feet.

Now of course.... If Canada had lower taxes and higher temperatures... It might be a different story.
:thumbsup

I haven't left the US yet this week.

Oh wait, yes I have. :glugglug

One2one-Jennifer 07-27-2004 08:36 PM

The only reason I left the States and moved to Canada was because I fell in love with a Canadian. I love to travel, but never had a reason before to change my whole life and move to another country. Many Americans have life by the balls and never think of leaving. They may move from state to state, but usually they need a pretty good reason to pack up and move to another country. As long as life is good, people tend to stay put.

Every country in the world has it's pro's and con's. Some are definitely worse than others. The States can't be that bad if people from all over the world immigrate into the States to live a better life.

I love this country, but I've really been eyeing the great white north lately; especially Vancouver. I really want to move there when I'm done with school; heard it's gorgeous.
