What do you find helps member retention?

Exclusive content?
How you list updates?
Plug In content?

What retains members for you?

for every month they stay i give them a box of twinkies

posting pics of my bunghole retains for me

actually, the fresh updates 3 times of exclusive conent are what does it for us....we missed updates before, and people fall off....

Exclusive content with regular pre-scheaduled updates.

All members of Skin Traffic sites get autographed 8x10's of me. Hand-signed of course.

Works great.

Updates help, doesn't really need to be that exclusive unless it is just some pictures.

Personalized stuff like having a girl that they are fans of doing blogs or whatever. Or comedy just fake it.

Updating your member's area is a key and intrical part of retaining members, no doubt.

We mix up exclusive updates with filler content updates at least 2X a week and throw in a bunch of feeds, live shows, chat, ect. We also give loyalty discounts..

All our member's sections have gotten 8+ out of 10 rating from review sites and member feedback :thumbsup

That would work very well. Gives them that one on one feelling and that you care for each of them as an individual and not as a whole.

Give them something different they dont see everywhere else.. like plugins that arent overly used.

Before I detail a proven formula you should know that approx 25% of people who will join a site with the recurring option will cancel even before logging in, PEOPLE ARE SCARED OF THE WORD "RECURRING".

On that note always remember to offer a one time payment option.

Now here is a good retention formula.

3 updates a week

here is how to work it

Lets say you have 5 sets, break each set down into 3 parts:

And update, monday, wed, friday

Spread the updates out so week 5 members see part 2 of the first movie update, keeping them curious while at the same time giving them many updates.

Right. Don't treat them like mindless sheep who can be conned out of $30.

Firstly you need to look at what you are offering on day one, not day 31, when he's going to renew. Has the site enough good content to start off with?

Is the content within the same niche and style as the tour and why he signed up? Remember one mans meat is another mans poison is very true when it comes to porn.

Reckon most surfers are going to want to see 10 sets/videos a day at most, so does the site have 300 sets/videos? And are you updating with enough to justify him spending another $30?

For get about custom, unless you have a budget big enough to buy 10 exclusives a week you will not make it. Best thing is to find good content providers and update with brand new sets that the members will not have seen before. $300 for one exclusive solo girl set or 10 brand new sets, what do you think will retain more? No guy jerks off to exclusive, he jerks off to GOOD content he has not seen before.

Then what else are you offering? Look at the site as an over all experience, not just 1,000 sets for $30. Too many thing that's the solution and wonder why it does not work.

Good content with good looking and updates at least once per week certainly helps. You are better off going for quality, not quantity.

You give the member what they want, and alot fo it.

Last paysite company I worked for, I increased their retention from low 20 percen to high 30's low 40's.

Regular updates and well targetted niches.

In other words no cookie cutter sites :)
