AMD Athlon XP - Anyone have one?
 

Untill today, I've always had Pentiums. I got a Athlon XP 2800+ 2.08GHz today. So far, It seems really damn nice... What's your experience with AMD and which do you perfer, Pentium or Amd?

Same here. It seems just as fast as the P4 for a lot less money.

I have about 14 2500+ processors and 6 of the 2600+

I have the 2000+ and it's great. Looking forward to upgrading to the 2700+ soon.

I have the 2600 and i wouldnt want to trade it for a pentium.

All my desktops have been AMD, my laptop is a P4

went from Pentium 2 to an AMD, never looked back. Used them since

my laptop has a 3200 and my pc has a 2800. I was reffered to amd processors and i think they are pretty damn good:thumbsup

athlon will always overrule intel! And they even fixed their heat problems...

i have a 3200 in my desktop and 2800mobile in my laptop...i love them

Just bought my wife a 2800, think I blew it up tho.

I have an AMD 64 3000 and it's perfect for my gaming needs.

Running on AMD, just make sure you cool it properly and you wont have any problems. :thumbsup

I've been buying almost only AMD since 97

I've got a 2500+ I purchased a year ago. I used an original Athlon 700Mhz before that.

I love AMD processors. They permform very well against Intel and the prices are good too.

I love athlons...I prefer them over Intels anyday of the week.....

I use Athlons as well but their prices aren't really that great anymore.

2 years ago, a top of the line Athlon XP 2200+ went for under $300 whereas the top of the line P4 at the time went for $600. Now the 3800+ and the FX-53 go for like $800.

One of my deskstops is an AMD Ahthlon. 2.5 years of using it 12-14 hours a day and it's stiil running strong! :thumbsup

Have had the 1800+ and now the 2400+. Quality chips overall. But keep them cool. When they over heat they over heat. You wont have anything left if it happens unlike intel chips.

yeah, if you get the wrong heat sync you can get a nice oven in there

have also a AMD 2500+ XP barton core (deskotp)

and intel 4 3.2 (laptop)
