Trillian

I was thinking of using it what are your experiences with it?

StuartD 07-27-2004 10:27 AM

Been using it for years. Will never go back to icq or msn or yahoo or aol :)

MaDalton 07-27-2004 10:28 AM

i don't know why i should use something different. works smoothly.

johnbosh 07-27-2004 10:28 AM

I use it for a while it rocks:d very handy and saves contacts + Messages

retrograde 07-27-2004 10:28 AM

I use it, and it's great. But if you're going to use it, I'd suggest buying the full version. The last time I used to the free version... well, it sucked.

I've been using Trillian for over a year now, and I'm happy with it. You won't have all the advanced functions that the individual clients have, but at least you'll be able to have ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and IRC all in one program.

It'll take some getting used to when you first try it, but you'll probably grow to love it. :)

AGF 07-27-2004 10:32 AM

have just bought this program my self. but will first get it tomorrow, looking forward to see how it works.

WebTitan 07-27-2004 10:34 AM

use it and love it

axelcat 07-27-2004 10:35 AM

Its great

LadyMischief 07-27-2004 10:35 AM

I prefer Trillian.

arial 07-27-2004 10:38 AM

Been using it for close to three years now, I love it.

Dagwolf 07-27-2004 10:40 AM

I've used it for several years, and I like it. It beats having 4 messengers running in your taskbar.

crockett 07-27-2004 10:45 AM

it's good, much better than ICQ, however there is an extra added feature in Trillian. It will sometime, but not very often do a suprise cleaning of your contact lists.

My suggestion is to save a back up of your contacts and history if it means anything to you.

candyflip 07-27-2004 10:47 AM

I had some issues with the 2.0 Pro version when it first came out. All those bugs have been squashed and it kicks ass for sure.

Saint Nick 07-27-2004 11:45 AM

Best IM client out. Wouldn't use anything but Trillian. Oh yeah, free is fine, but I have the paid version. It's good to have the paid because when updates happen, they come out fast.

KRL 07-27-2004 11:46 AM

Love It! :thumbsup

Elli 07-27-2004 11:49 AM

I've been using the free version for two-three years now, and haven't looked back. I had to install MSN 6.0 to play tic tac toe and bejeweled, but for everything else I use trillian. I love having MSN logs :)

Basic_man 07-27-2004 11:55 AM

I don't use it, it's too buggy ! :(

MikeHawk 07-27-2004 11:57 AM

Never used it, everyone that works with us uses it ...they swear by it....

Hi Laurie!

Jace 07-27-2004 12:02 PM

i use pro, i have heard the free one has some bugs, so I would get pro....well worth it if you IM all day like me...

and the skins rock..i have the Aikon2

macho 07-27-2004 12:07 PM

I don't like trillian. ICQ 2003 Pro is very good and MSN gives many oppotunities games, conference and so on!

fktup 07-27-2004 12:08 PM

:thumbsup

it's hard to beat. No problems for 2 or 3 years now. The pro version is worth the upgrade.

warlock5 07-27-2004 12:25 PM

If you want to play games and send lots of smilies to your friends, don't use Trillian. Otherwise its great. I've been using the free version for years. I've tried the pro version but I didn't like it. I don't know what bugs people are talking about. The only things I've noticed is it has problems with my NAT firewall when I direct connect on AIM and it doesn't send UNISYS text -- ie when someone copy and pastes something from a website.

That problem with text applies to people using the free version. I believe it's fixed in the pro version, I haven't encountered it since switching.

okny 07-27-2004 12:30 PM

Great program, easy to use, and you dont run into icq problems like most have in the past...

Azure Sales 07-27-2004 01:07 PM

The security and encoding kick ass...

I highly recommend it.

Mr. Mojo Risin 07-27-2004 01:08 PM

it's great

chri$tian 07-27-2004 01:13 PM

Great, get it, buy full version....

mattyboy 07-27-2004 01:37 PM

I use the free version and its way better than ICQ. After all these comments, i may well look into the paid version now.

Bryan Havoc 07-27-2004 01:40 PM

Trillian Pro 2.x rocks. Been using Trillian for years and it's great.

Tipsy 07-27-2004 02:01 PM

The pro version is the only way to go.

fr8 07-27-2004 02:03 PM

Its a great program if you dont mind loosing some funtionality of the messengers. If you can live without them then your set.

pood 07-27-2004 02:08 PM

yup

been using trillian since release

love it, never crashes, well most of the time.

great plugins

worth every cent

I have an odd problem. I used Trillian for awhile then it stopped connecting to MSN and Yahoo. I went back to MSN messenger and my contact list was gone and I had to start again. When I attempt to log into MSN with Trillian now it shows my old contact list (but doesn't actually connect).
