How do you Fly ? First class or coach ?

My friend Adam, just made an excellent observation...
How do you Fly ? First class or coach ? I could never figure out
how the airlines get away with charging so much for first class.

it's $270.00 for coach from LA to NY and $3,700 for first class,

what is it ? the slightly bigger seat ? the movie ? the champagne ?

First class is a scam. At that rate it should include a hooker and an 8 ball of coke

:thumbsup :1orglaugh :glugglug ::thumbsup

SleazyDream 07-26-2004 10:30 PM

i fly first class, the difference is in how you feel when you get off the plane.

a few thousand isn't worth my day - as i feel all cramped and miserable in coach.

coach is for poor people that do hookers and coke

pussyluver 07-26-2004 10:30 PM

The high price is to seperate the have from the have nots. At $3700 you don't have to sit next to the likes of me!

This also prevents an argument for several hours while Sleazy explains in painful detail why I'm a moron and don't deserve to fly 1st class.

the Shemp 07-26-2004 10:31 PM

i only fly first class if some company is paying for my ticket..

NaughtyJenn 07-26-2004 10:33 PM

cargo actually...

j/k

flew first class last year back from southbeach though.. very nice and comfy i will say!

quiet 07-26-2004 10:33 PM

i usually fly first class. though i'm flying to Tokyo at the end of next month, and will be flying coach, but it's Japan Airlines, which is supposed to be great for international flights.

jscott 07-26-2004 10:35 PM

cheapest seat available, i'm not too picky with flights, unless its gonna be a long one

When I was working in a sales position, we could fly 1st class when ever we wanted. Easy on someone elses dime!

1st clas was nice, but not worth it now.

Seating space depends on the airline.

A baby crying and barfing all over ya can get on your nerves. That's not ttpical in 1st class.

You also don't have that large person over flowing into your space.

Have long legs, so coach is hell sometimes, esp the window seat.

I was dissapointed with JAL. Before flying with them I thought they would be kick ass, but now I've flown with them 4 times and I give them 3 out of 5 stars.

I agree, i just think for that price you should get more bang for your buck :2 cents:

foolio 07-26-2004 10:37 PM

short flights, 4 hours or less I dont care as long as I can stand up for a few minutes its cool. But long flights I gotta have my room. When I went to Hawaii and also the PI I fly first class, its worth the price for flights like that.

PenisFace 07-26-2004 10:40 PM

flying first class is okay as long as the flight attendants listen to you when you tell them you dont want them bugging the shit out of you every 5 minutes. Seriously, I dont need another pillow, I dont want a blanket, I've got a pepsi, now leave me alone and let me enjoy my comfy seat.

difficult to fly across canada these days in first class from winnipeg. tango doesn't have it - neither does jetsgo or westjet - and from winnipeg they seem to have all the direct flights to the places i wana go :( i'll take a direct flight in coach 10000 times over a layover in 1st class

Kassidy 07-26-2004 10:47 PM

The reason it's so expensive is you have to cover the cost of all the staff and their families flying in 1st class for free. :2 cents:

mahoney 07-26-2004 10:50 PM

I think your missing the point...it's not twice as much, not five times as much but 10 motherfucking times as much as coach and it's not that different. it's a fucking scam !!! The reason this whole thing came up is because my friend decided to pour his own champagne and the "traveling whore" got all pissy and he said "hey lighten up it's first class" and she threw a fit. Then they ran out of the salmon. I'm just saying First class is not all it's cracked up to be mmmmk:winkwink:

Lensman 07-26-2004 10:53 PM

I fly 1st class, especially on Southwest.

Oracle Porn 07-26-2004 10:53 PM

coach....
bought a 1 way ticket to israel today...
paid $900.... biz class is $3,000 and first class $7,500

sorry can't afford that...:(

RRRED 07-26-2004 10:54 PM

I fly to Cali or Vegas quite a bit and I don't mind starting off with coach. I have MVP status for racking up so many miles that I can upgrade when I check in if it's available.. and I can check in 48 hours early so it's almost always guaranteed. Last time I flew, they upgraded both my kids to first class too.

If you don't have MVP, you can still upgrade with Alaska when you check in but it costs you 50 bucks.. still totally worth it for the meal.

Haha lens... do you like to face the rest of the plane?

erehwon 07-26-2004 10:55 PM

A few years of consulting got me the upgrades to first class all the time, I have to agree, getting on and off the plane first, hot towelettes, free booze, hot meals, and a bathroom that didn't smell like the Lincoln Park Zoo primate house were all pluses in my book over coach.

I hate flying now, getting molested by fugly TSA agents I wouldn't even pick up during last call, having to be there 2-3 hours ahead of time, FAM's that you can spot a mile away, and terrorists that are probing the wire, looking for holes in the fence.

Fuck flying, time to buy a Caddy and drive everwhere! :thumbsup

Southwest is all 1st Class or all Couch, take your pick.

GTS Mark 07-26-2004 10:59 PM

I usually book coach and then upgrade when I check in. It's usually not too much I find, $100-200 upgrade fee. That's a lot cheaper than booking the 1st class ticket first ;)

First Class is the only way I roll....

I fly America West for most domestic flights. As an example I Just priced out LA to NY and it's $198 r/t Coach and $799 First. Much more resonable.

Here are More of my First Class Pics

chodadog 07-26-2004 11:39 PM

I've been in coach, business class, and first class. Although, i only got into first class 'cause i just walked in and was booted out a couple of hours later, haha.

I'm going to have to look into this upgrading thing. Interesting. :winkwink:

Ok, I'll take a blow job after lunch and a drink, then a nap.

VirtuMike 07-26-2004 11:53 PM

The airlines see me coming in and usually one glance is all it takes.

"Put this incredibly charming and handsome gentleman in first class immediately. And get him into the fast lane at security and to the lounge! He needs a Bloody Mary!"

At least that's what usually happens.

depends on the balance of my bank account...tried it both ways and there's not much difference really except the PRICE

theFeTiShLaDy 07-27-2004 01:05 AM

i've experienced flying on first class locally and the feeling is really comfortable...compared to coach.

Firehorse 07-27-2004 06:50 AM

I have only flown first class twice. I usually fly coach or business class. :)

Seriously never been on a plane and never will.

one drawback of living out on the west coast is that there are absolutely NO biz/first class flights from Van to Edmonton (a flight I have to do every month). Van to Montreal is a direct business class flight though - perfect :)

hova 07-27-2004 07:01 AM

Long flights I always do first class, with shorter flights I dont really care

bjjb 07-27-2004 07:02 AM

Only flown twice.. Denver to Louisville pre-911 had the money for first but flew coach (first-timer.. WTF did I know? lol) and last summer Louisville to Amsterdam via Atlanta. Flew coach. NEVER do that shit again if I got the money lol 9 and a half hours in coach sucks ass. Luckily I had the whole back row of seats to my self so I could stretch out my legs and almost lay down :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Basic_man 07-27-2004 07:03 AM

I've flown from Europe to Japan several times a year for the last 8 years and it doesn't matter which airline you take, coach always sucks for a 12-hour flight. It pays off to be a frequent flyer :)

FlyingIguana 07-27-2004 07:28 AM

first class is stupid

unless you're going to asia, then i can see it.

angeleyes 07-27-2004 07:41 AM

I don't mind coach.... I'm tiny so I swim in those sweats anyhow. (The one downfall is being too short to see the movie sometimes depending where the screen is). If I were to fly overseas though, I would consider 1st class if my frequent flyer mile made it a little cheaper. Do I have the money to fly 1st class? Yes. Can I think of better things I would rather do with a few thousand dollars for a 4 hour flight? Yes! :)

12clicks 07-27-2004 07:41 AM

I only fly first class.

First class is a fuckin' joke ... At least in my experience.

1.) Found a spider crawling all over my smoked salmon.

2.) The personal LCD systems were not functioning right.

3.) The businessmen three seats behind me were smoking (there were about 10 of them all smoking cigs).

So instead... I now just save my money and opt for Economy class. I take it like a man when I travel 24-hour flights to Asia from the east coast. :winkwink:
