What is a good bandwidh grapher for local windows usage?

I wanna keep a bandwidth graph open on the screen on a windows machine. No switch or anything so cant ue mrtg. Whats a good standalone program for graphing my network localy?

Preferably free, but not required.

Thanks in advance!

Do you want something which graphs only in real time, or something that can measure off 95th percentile?

Need more details as to what kind of reporting you want.

BTW, you dont need a switch to use MRTG, you can poll eth0 and run it on your local machine. thats if you were running some distrib of nix

(i thought you were the greatest host ever, shouldnt you know this? ;) )

What does owning a host and knowing how to do anything technical with windows have to do with anything? ;)

I dont want to run mrtg.

I actualy found OnlineEye Im likin it but I'd like the weekly graphs too like mrtg has.

Because mrtg doesnt just run on the screen its a browser interface and not what I want, also MRTG does not connect to remote machines for bandwidth without a switch am I right!? If it did that'd be ok. But for local viewing it has to be on screen.

Magg 07-26-2004 10:40 PM

Whats the differance between typing in a url and clicking an icon?

Anyways, you probably have MRTG already setup someplace, so
use the built in SNMPD that comes with Windows and then poll it with Cacti / MRTG / RTG etc

I havent seen any program which acts like MRTG but is a standalone in Windows.. since it wouldnt do many people that much good because if its turned off its not exactly giving you accurate bandwidth usage reports..

Still looking for something for you though

It can, have one your techs set it up for you, read my post above, Windows has a built in SNMPD you can use.

Doesnt really need much setup on your end as it does on the tech end.

They need to setup your cacti/rtg/whatever application you use to poll snmp on your switches/routers to poll your home machine... better to just ask them, as i dont think theres a program out there for windows that does what you want.

PLUS, MRTG will look really pretty on your home machine as usage graphing :)

MrJackMeHoff 07-26-2004 10:48 PM

Yeah that analogx looks nice. Im liking the OnlineEye too it has some sort of server client thing I though maybe I could use...

I was hoping for weekly averages but well its not the most important thing in the world this is just for convienence really..

Thanks everyone for your help!
