Do You Think Free Downloads Are Bad For the Entertainment Industry ?
 

I think that giving Entertainment away for free sends a dangerous message and it's bad for the economy. Where does it stop ? Should we open up all the porn sites and Movie Theatres for free ? Some people seen to think that it doesn't hurt sales but it hurts sales in a major way. Record label personell has been cut significantly because of free downloads. Free downloads =unemployment :2 cents:

It's a tricky thing. In one way free shit can draw people to you and help boost your sales. On the other if people only go for free shit then they should be punished.

Yeah, if your a new band it can be good exposure but so is having your song on a commercial or playing a gig. The point is that it devalues the product. No one wants to pay for something if they can get it for free. Free downloads hasn't made a band famous yet. The only thing that really makes a band popular is
Radio and music televsion

I totally agree!!! If the surfers gets free pictures from tons of tgp,post sites. why would he/she buy a membership, and i think it does take away from sales. :2 cents:

But it's too late now. And it's impossible to regulate this industry with so many people who don't know what they are doing.

Free concerts of polish bands in public places sponsored by beer companies in recent years => noone wants to pay for live concerts now.

Yeah the longer it goes on like this the tougher it will be. I know the movie and music business are going to do something drastic in an attempt to regulate it. They are losing sooo much money because of kazza etc
