htaccess question

ive got serveral subdomains and the user should get access to all of them without having to type in their usernames and passwords again and again when switching subdomains.

How can i set this up? Any idea?

no way if you're using .htaccess because subdomains is different for this type of authority

damn. Thats what i thought

mcmc 07-26-2004 08:21 AM

ive got some folders which must be protected on different subdomains. Users should get access there without having to re-login when switching subdomains. Any idea how to solve this problem?

arachnO 07-26-2004 08:39 AM

mcmc, I think it can be done throw custom script and access limited by time based on IP address
it's single way that I see

THX arachnO.

i was thinking of that. But what if someone comes in with a proxy. I would open the folders for all users coming with the same IP ...

arachnO 07-26-2004 08:44 AM

Close access to your folders for all users with ANONYM proxy!

hmm .. would be a solution.

but i think im gonna do a php script which checks the identity for each and every file and protect it that way. Jeeez! Some more work to to :)

arachnO 07-26-2004 08:51 AM

use .htaccess and mod_rewrite
