Do you have a PDA?

If so, which one?

Also what do you do with it?

Manowar 07-26-2004 02:59 AM

PDA's are on the way out - smartphones look set to supercede them in the next 12 - 18 months. Sony has already announced it won't be making any more pda models.

Currently have an ipaq - waiting for motorola's new windows smartphone which is due out any day now.

I would have thought with wi fi and bluetooth pda's would be big news.

I keep thinking of getting one as i can get on the net in a lot of places (via wi fi) for free (in the UK) plus use it as a mp3 player.

arachnO 07-26-2004 03:18 AM

I got three, I used the first one a lot. The others I dont use as much, my phone does the things they do

erehwon 07-26-2004 04:03 AM

I have various vintages of Palm's laying around the office, now I have most of my numbers memorized, so it makes little use to carry them around except at conventions.

petepete 07-26-2004 04:04 AM

Heh, been using Palm IIIc and it's doing it's job pretty good (contacts, appointments and notes).

I have tested some fancy stuff but really... don't need any more features than my Palm has.

wm_cibi 07-26-2004 04:06 AM

IPAQ H5550 :thumbsup

SBJ 07-26-2004 05:47 AM

I have a Sony Clie and I mainly use it for phone numbers. I sometimes get online with it (wifi) and my fav feature is it takes sony memory sticks and since my digital camera is a sony 717.0 It makes it nice to look at pictures I took and show people if I don't have my laptop around. It also takes decent pictures.

I have a Handspring I bought when they first came out. I used it for about 6 months but it seemed to my life MORE complicated instead of LESS complicated. Gave it to my son, he felt the same way. It's sitting in a box in the basement now :(

Sony isn't making any more new models for 2004, not getting out of the PDA biz.

Get your facts right.
