2257 & Private domain registration
Let's say hypothetically (:) ) that you have all your domains listed by proxy..i.e. anonymously registered through a registrar.
Then, does the registrar have to turn over the real name/address info to the gov? Pretty sure I know the answer to this one..but curious as to what others have to say. |
you can be damn sure they will without thinking even 1 sec. about it

They'd turn over your adress faster than you could run, it clearly says in their terms that they only protect your privacy as long as you don't break any laws...if they wouldn't cooperate the gov wouldn't need long to shut them down.

GoDaddy.com just sent me mail telling me that for just $29.99 extra per domain, they'll give them a dead end address somewhere in the bronx! :)
