Who here is a Vegetarian ?

Any Vegetarians on the board?

What do you love to cook / eat?

Just looking for a few Ideas cause the Model I have with me over the next time is a Vegetarian and I tend to like it as well :)

Too much meat always makes me agressive somehow...

Thanx,
Steve

Yeah, I didnt realize until I cut it out for like a week...

I feel much more relaxed now to things that elsewise would have made me react agressive...

Havent thought myself I would react like that to it :)

Tomatillo Guacamole

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

3 small to medium tomatillos
2 ripe avocados
1 or 2 green onions
2 cloves of garlic
Directions:
De-husk and rinse tomatillos then cut them 1/2"- 1" into cubes. Dice green onions (even the green part) and garlic cloves. Place all ingredients into a food processor. Slice avocados in half, set aside the pits. Take a spoon and scoop out the insides of the avocado into the food processor. Puree all ingredients in the food processor for about 5-10 seconds until mixture is well blended and in small pieces. (Or however long it takes to get a texture you're happy with.)

Great for tacos (MMmm!) or just for dipping. If you have leftovers, (I've heard) you can put the pit of the avocado in with the guacamole keep it from turning brown.

Serves: 8-10

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Vegetarian

Salads - fruits - vegetables - pastas etc.

I do eat fish though. In a way that's meat. But I started feeling unhealthy when I wasn't eating proteins.

KRL: speaking of fish, what kind do you like best?

I always thought as a vegetarian you could 'fix' your lack of protein with mushrooms...

There are some great high protein mushrooms recipes out there... let me know if you want them,I have them bookmarked somewhere :)

Thanx,
Steve

My sister has been a vegetarian since she was 5 (she's 29 now). There are millions of recipes out on the internet and thousands of cookbooks :) My sister in law is also vegetarian so at family gatherings, they always put together some AWESOME vegetarian dishes! :thumbsup

retrograde 07-26-2004 10:06 AM

I'm vegetarian, and have been for 14 years. :) One of my favorite dishes is dahl. It's a really good stew made with lentils and spices. You can find some great recipes for it on Google.

It's insanely easy to make, and it's darn good with rice. :)

Firehorse 07-26-2004 12:49 PM

I am a vegetarian and there is so much variety: pasta, fruit, salads, vegies with rice etc. We eat a wide range of foods every day! :thumbsup

Lucy 07-26-2004 01:04 PM

nope, I eat meat:thumbsup

I'm a little more hardcore vega, no fish for me.

Sometimes difficult to resist, lots of fresh fish and lobster here.

You could try eggs or soy products.

I'm mostly fruitarian, lots of fresh juice, mangos, coconut, pineapple.

IratePrimate 07-26-2004 01:29 PM

I am a veganivore. I only eat vegans. I don't believe in the senseless slaughter of captive animals. Only the wholesale slaughter of vegans who (like my neighbor) always try to convert me to the dark side. I have been a vegetarian who ate fish in the past, but found that nothing can really satiate my need for meat like a vegan. So I am now a vegetarian who will eat fish and vegan fanatics.

CarnivalOfWhores 07-26-2004 01:32 PM

Sometimes Vegan... eat the meat once and awhile... it's important to get enough protein... that can be done in various ways!

reynold 07-27-2004 01:19 AM
