I promised to post it and here it is... I did not give him any pointers, only the # of thumbs (16) and the sponsor url and asked him to make it on his own because it was a sort of test and I am preparing for my mom's cremation on Monday.. so I am busy and my brain's a mush.

But it looks pretty nice and I got the psd file too for $8.. check the alt tags, meta tags, the text taken from the sponsor site, etc.

I added the copyright at the end and forgot to ask him to make the big pics smaller in size and the width of the table I am using, 760 usually.

I don't like it. I doubt it will sell, but I'm not familiar with that niche.

At $8 it's not bad. But if I were you I'd tell him next time, how you want it done, or pay someone $2-$5 more to get something catchy.

Maybe a bit of animation? Even from the sponsor site with their permission but for $8 I am pretty happy with it. He is new to adult but not to mainstream design but he cannot post references and needs a new adult portfolio.

It makes me sad that people are charing $8 for design work. REALLY sad.

Something that i can never figure out is why people think there is a difference between paying 8 or 30 dollars per gallery. I mean, if you've got a well established designer who is a proven converter selling gallery designs for 30 bucks a pop, why would you get an $8 design? What are you really saving? 22 bucks? What about all the sales you're missing out on.

I mean, these things aren't just eye candy. You actually use them to make money! I don't know if that gallery would convert or not.. so i'm not putting it down.. just low priced galleries in general... But what are you really saving if this gallery pulls say, 5 sales less than a gallery that was a mere 22 dollars extra?

It's worth paying the extra to go with someone with a proven track record in my opinion.

I'm listing lots of blood doll galleries and someone is shooting suicide girls for me in a brand new style, with knife and such.. but I might change it as well because I have lots of fetish stuff, mostly leg, stockings and foot galleries also.

I know of designers who have built their portfolio offering free design work.

understood, but not really the point I was alluding to. Why are people who do 'online' design work charging so little? pro bono or no, 'real' designers charge a shitload more, and 'real' companies are glad to pay for the work.

It's simple.. because I'm new here and not sure about my skills in adult biz. Who wants to pay 20$ per gallery to guy who isn't famous and starting to build his portfolio just now? I think nobody. So.. I know why you don't like guys who charge 8$ per gallery.. because they're all making hard to charge more by guys like you. Most of people think "I better want to pay 8$, than 20$" and this is your point. But don't affraid, if you are good, clients want to hire you irrespective of your prices... :)
