Bush Targets Marijuana Smokers

President George Bush, who had already promised a more aggressive campaign against substance abuse, has ordered that resources be allocated to fighting so-called 'soft' drugs instead of concentrating on harder forms, such as heroin and cocaine.

'We are working hard on education, but unfortunately a lot of today's parents are under the impression marijuana is harmless and that their kids trying it is some kind of rite of passage,' said Jennifer de Vallance, of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Bush is diverting money from fighting heroin to go after pot. :1orglaugh

Hope he arrests all the Republican sheep pot smokers who voted for him first. :1orglaugh

the more they target the less votes they get.

Jdoughs 07-25-2004 01:26 PM

Our Prime Minister in Canada just made a statement last week that he was going to decriminalize marijuana.

:thumbsup

Fletch XXX 07-25-2004 01:27 PM

this is the same thing they did with terrorism.

target the wrong thing and heroin and cocaine will have their children. They are more kids drinking than smoking pot right?

bush and his people slacked and 9/11 happened, they will have your kids hooked on heroin and coke, but hey at least they will have never inhaled.

why?

its been DECRIMINALIZED in california since 1976.

Canada and Cali have the same penalty.

I can carry an ounce on me and only get a $100 fine, no jail time, no arrest.

:thumbsup

Gonna have to agree on this one. The more he seperates us out into groups and sterotypes the more of the popular vote he is losing.

haha...you need to read up on your law.
28.5 grams is a felony in california...you think you would get $100 fine with an ounce?
1 oz=28 grams and they do count the bag

you are incorrect.

28.5 grams is a misdemeanor.

no jail, definitely not a felony.

http://www.norml.com/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4525

first offense for SELLING is not even a Felony here.

Growing is, but not smoking it, or selling it.

yes one ounce is 28 grams and they give you a .5 for fun

Fletch XXX 07-25-2004 04:28 PM

and Prop 36 is kicking more ass than ever

http://www.prop36.org/about.html

saving california 1.5 billion in 5 years, already closing year 3.

Also, decriminilizing marijuana in 1976 has saved California BILLIONS in revenue, not having to put simply drug offenders in jail.

Everytime someone goes to jail it costs over 200 bucks per head.

add it up people.

your leaders are telling you lies.

here we have JUDGES and SENATE on our side.

http://www.judgejimgray.com

here is a fucking judge standing up for marijuana.

he even wrote a book about putting people away for 20 years as a judge for drugs.

"How the war on drugs has failed"

as I say, i am NOT just a smoker, I am active in its fight and marijuanas future.

I plan on becoming a LICENSED grower for medical use as well.

Aunt Jemima 07-25-2004 04:30 PM

DTK 07-25-2004 04:47 PM

Fletch, I thought posession of an ounce or less was an infraction here in CA....not a misdemeanor.

??????

Mr.Fiction 07-25-2004 04:50 PM

No matter what the California law is, since Bush took over, the Justice Department has been trying to overrule state laws on drugs and other issues so they can throw people in jail even in states where the people have voted differently.

Bush and A-s-h-c-r-o-f-t only believe in state rights when the state laws agree with their fanatical religious beliefs.

Magnus 07-25-2004 04:51 PM

What a waste of time and money going after pot.

It's the same here. However, lawmakers have come up with a way to get around the soft marijuana laws..

If you get caught with weed or paraphanalia, you only get a fine but NOW your drivers license automatically gets suspended for 90 days...

You could be WALKING DOWN THE STREET and if you're caught with weed, it's suspended.

So there's always a way they can get you if you want.

A year or so ago, an British TV motoring program conducted some tests to see the effects of driving after smoking pot.

People drove better AFTER smoking a joint than before! The stoned drivers, aware that their abilities may be impaired, drove more cautiously and concentrated more, and made fewer errors than when perfectly sober.

dude here they are trying to give illegal immigrants licenses.

they dont take them away for pot

heheheh

i have friends who have been busted for way more than an ounce.

cops here are not like cops elsewhere.

mexican cops dont even give a fuck about weed

hahaha

they prefer car chases and beating up gangsters.

Fletch XXX 07-25-2004 05:28 PM

i have a buddy who just flipped his truck over going over the Hollywood Hills.

He was busted for DUI, got caught with pot.

guess what, they didnt write "possession of marijuana" on the ticket nor charge, but the weed was taken.

cops here know weed, if its good they take it and smoke it themselves.

i havent seen anyone get in trouble for weed since I have been here.

and I smoke daily with friends

boobmaster 07-25-2004 05:30 PM

Drugs are bad fore you. Go Bush go!

BigG 07-25-2004 05:41 PM

I believe that Bush is focusing on the RIGHT things!

Forget that the terrorist mastermind Osama is running around planning more attacks and concentrate on locking up every son of a bitch smoker you can find!!!

People who smoke will ruin this country faster than any terrorist!

I say we start another war in another country like Iraq so that we can continue doing all the right things!

More war! More (smoker) prisoners! More Jesus!

Go Bush! Go Jesus!
