Was re-watching Shallow Hal today, got to thinking...

... wouldn't it be great if more gorgeous hot women had personalities that were nice, unassuming, friendly and approachable like the larger or less physically attractive girls do? (You'd have to have seen the movie to know what I mean by that)

But since that is rare, wouldn't it also be great to be able to see a woman for her inner beauty like in the movie? Because... I'm sure the reality of it is that the kind of inner beauty many of the so-called "less attractive" women have actually looks like that, as in "Gwenyth Paltrow" beautiful.

There were some great moments in that film..... and the part about George Costanza having a tail was just out there completely.

Global Dialers 07-24-2004 05:45 PM

agreed it seems like most of the 'hot' woen are nothng but 100% pure bitches

wyldblyss 07-24-2004 05:45 PM

That movie was great and I just loved the tail. The message of the movie was a good one but things will never change. People will be judged by their looks first, personality second. It is a shame really.

I think it is more a case that they are too hot for you to approach. Hot chicks are easier to approach than you might think, you just have to get past their built in defense mechanisms

that's normal.
We are animals, put on this earth to have sex and survive.

Good looking people are better at it. (better gene pool)

MrIzzz 07-24-2004 05:49 PM

it takes a certain maturity to actually see how beautiful a woman really is. not just from her physical appearance but from her inside.

also, some of the best experiences i've had have been with ordinary "plain" women, that no one else thought were special:)

lol no trust me on this both my brother and i have been married to 'hot' women and they both had major attitude problems

his was a complete phsyco - she wouldnt let him see his friends or anything because she thought he would cheat on her

mine was just plain crazy - couldnt say anything to her about other women because she thought i was telling her i wanted to bed them, even sying something to her like her hair doesnt look as good as yours would send the crazy bitch into an onslaught

there is definately something to be said for divorce :thumbsup

i wouldn't say a better gene pool, look at some of the smartest people, they're not really the best looking

There are those who can see past the fat, CD. More than we may realize, but still a sad minority.

Gwynneth Paltrow actually spent a day in Hollywood in her "fat suit". No one recognized her, and most people simply either looked past her as though she wasn't there, or gave her looks of utter disgust. She said it was one of the most eye-opening days of her life. I believe it.

That said, those of us who can't get by on our looks have to develop the personality that saves us from a lifetime of misery. We often become quick-witted and yet fun to be around so that we can hide our shame and self-loathing.

It hurts, but we do what we gotta do. Some of us find the willpower to lose the weight, and I applaud those who can do that. When someone says, "It's not the clothes, but the fat that makes you look fat," it just makes us feel worse. Worse because we know you're right.

There's more to me than the fat. But all many people will ever see is the fat. I don't blame anything or anybody else for my being fat: I did it to myself. I may be genetically pre-disposed to have a large bone structure, but I am not genetically pre-disposed to eat junk food and sit on my ass all day.

It's a long, slow road that I'm taking to lose weight, because I think that if I tried a crash diet again, I'd just gain it all back and then some.

All I ask is that someone take a moment to get to know me before judging me on appearance alone.

Einstein was hideous. There are several people who in some societies at certain times in history would have been killed at birth, who turned out to be major world talents. Beethoven comes to mind.

During the movie, I found myself wishing that Tony Robbins would come around here and give me "the site" so I could see the inner beauty like Hal could.

I also noticed that Hal was seeing the inner ugliness of the really hot babes, like that one bitchy nurse. To Hal she looked like a miserable hag, but to everyone else she was a near supermodel, and a gold-digger at that.

I think I would love that kind of vision.

I just dont think that anyone takes the time to get to know someone. Everyone has inner beauty & compassion.
With a small exception of a few. Hitler, Dalmer, Manson, etc etc.

Even fat people, disabled people, & not so attrractive people, need lovin in their lives. :2 cents:

who says fat people can't find love? thats why there's other fat people!

not everyone can have jessica alba or brad pitt

Trixie 07-24-2004 07:01 PM

Ooooh -- I love Shallow Hal!

This problem may have less to do with "people" needing to see the inner beauty in others, but in some major gender problems. Example: why is it that you can find shitloads of women who'd fuck Jack Black in a second? Count me as one of them who sees his "inner beauty" which makes him a veritable sex god in my eyes. A woman on par with Jack Black in looks/personality/talent would not have the same appreciative male fan base as Jack Black does women.

There's a reason why men don't have the same kind of appreciation for women considered less-than by our culture. Part of it is definitely natural selection, but I think there's more to it than that. :2 cents:

Hal had the answer :

[After Mauricio broke Hal's spell]
Hal: Okay, who do you think is the most beautiful woman in the world?
Mauricio: Wonder Woman.
Hal: Okay... let's say everyone else in the world thought Wonder Woman was ugly.
Mauricio: It wouldn't matter. Because I know they'd be wrong.
Hal: See! That's what I had with Rosemary! I saw a knock out, I don't care what anybody else saw!
Mauricio: You're right. I guess I really did screw you over then!

I think the point was lost. Didnt intend to say large folks cant find love.

Its a public image thing that thinking thin is beautiful. Theres the saying that there issmeone for everyone. But the teeney boopers that read their fasion glamor mags and make themselves puke after eating a apple or orage isnt healthy.

its good to be healthy and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i like healthy looking woman, that also excludes woman that are too skinny. just doesn't look healthy.

Yes self-loathing fatty personalities are such quality. Face it, fat bitches are not only lazy but they also hate themselves.

you can't change what you feel instinctively, and your instinct is to get the best looking girl you possibly can.

EviLGuY 07-25-2004 10:52 AM

Good movie I thought.. Jack Black did a decent job.. and he's not much of an actor. :)

chase 07-25-2004 11:11 AM

It's all relative though...some people prefer fat people. Some people prefer blondes, etc. Granted, it's not the majority, though.
I'm a big girl, and I don't feel bad about myself. I carry myself with confidence, and I take pride in my appearance, and people respond to that-whether they like big girls or not.
In fact, I think it gives me an opportunity to impress people I've just met with my personality and intelligence that most typically beautiful girls don't get until the hard-on wears off. People walk away from meeting me thinking" Damn, she's pretty cool" instead of "Damn, I'd like to fuck her" and that's perfectly fine with me.
Eventually they all want to fuck me. :winkwink:

Yes, but what looks good to you is in part determined by what you feel... For instance, I'm not at all attracted to Sandra Bullock because she in some way reminds me of my sister. On the other hand, Mandy turns me on big-time. And she's a BIG girl. Guess I'm just a face man ;)

Mandy has got possibly the most beautiful face I've seen. She's a stunner!

Most of the hot chics have those personalities as a defence mechanism because they are outcasted their whole lives and probably were mistreated a few times, not saying it is right but when you understand why someone is like they are you can better deal with them.

It is not to difficult to get around that type of thing if you know how to use phychology on people who are not acting in a way that you appreciate. Let her know you know her games and that she can be a better person then show her how she can be that person with you and you should be ok. If she still acts up she is not worth your time and by age 25 she will be obsolete, alone, no kids, no relationship and have a cat, a failure in every culture on the face of the planet unless she also made lots of money somewhere.

There are some hot chics out there with good personalities, I know a few of them, GREAT girls, you just have to have your shit together to get one of them is all.

Cam94 07-25-2004 12:32 PM

your right, 9 times out of 10 you have to have your shit together to get the hot girls. cant be a bum(ie live at home and your 20), but if your scared of hot girls then you'll never be able to talk to them. you just cant be afraid of rejection, just have the confidence to know you more than deserve them, and then the hot bitchs roll in!!!

as far as losing weight, im in the process of weight loss and my plan is pretty simple. just drink lots of iced water. no cokes. ive dropped two pant sizes in two months and i havent done one day of exercise (i know i should, never seem to have time.)
