well, that is until we see the first lawsuit regarding a model that was stalked and killed cause anyone could get her info...who is to blame then? then content producer or the government?

just look at that girl up north, and that was with a guy that did shoots before....he killed that girl in a bondage shoot...now just imagine if anyone could have gotten her info, it would have happened long before it did

THey will say if you dont filter and know who you do business with thats your problem not the courts. People will have to stop hiding.

No it's the content producer's fault for not filtering who he/she sends to content out to.
Who knows what's going to happen.
It's just best to be prepared.

Not the girl the producer of the content. Wake up the its not fair defense is not going to work . If they scare away all girls from doing porn that will make them happy. In the real business world people know real names and addresses. You are my friend and I dont even know what the fuck your name is how fucked up is that or Gonzo dont know his name either. Thats not how the real world works. IF everyone is out in the light alot less shit can happen.

are you nuts? do you really think a content provider can filter out who they sell content to? If the damn US postal service can't filter out it own post office employes to pick the ones that don't go postal and shoot the place up, do you really think a content provider can tell if a buyer will be a stalker or not..

get real.

You can prevent it by 90 percent at least. If someone has to give you drivers license copies and verify addresses. The chance goes down dramatically. That means content sellers have to be more responsible. Also there is a little too much self importance like there is this band of starkers waiting out there. Danni Ash has a office thats on her website for custodian of records . You dont hear about Danni getting attacked on a regualr basis . I have a friend she is a very wild chick she invites people she doesnt know from yahoo groups to parties at her house. She has been doing this for over a year nothing has ever happen and no one ev er came back to stalk her.

It's not the 90% you have to worry about it's the 1%. Did you not read what Steve LightSpeed posted about Tawnee in one of these 5,000 2257 topics? That her brand new car which she hadn't even made a a first payment on, was torched by some fucked up fan. Your freinds are just lucky that the wrong person hasen't crossed their path.

Don't sit here and try to say it's the content providers responsibility, there is no way in hell they can really know who they are selling content to. Do you know how easy it is to get a fake ID? Let alone that this business is done on the internet so they can't hold the the buyers ID in their hand and only would be provied a copy of it.. ever hear of photoshop?

Seriously man, I don't think you are living in the real world if you belive the content provider could have any chance at sorting out who's a would be stocker and who's not..

well, that ain't from lack of information that is for sure....my name is pretty eacy to find though, just look to the left....you see, unlike most people here, we use our real names when posting...cause we have nothing to hide

and gonzo is jim

crockett 07-25-2004 08:15 AM

just to add another level to this, It's not only the primary buyer that you would have to worry about .. Let's just say some how you managed to weed out all the would be stalkers from the primary buyer.

What happens when that primary buyer gives out the content to his affilates and under this new law all these 100s of affilates need copies too?

Trixie 07-25-2004 08:26 AM

There are at least a hundred other stupid fucking threads about 2257 with all of us bitching and whining . . . Jace is one of the few who encourages everyone to submit comments and this fucking retard tony404 has to jump in with his crap again as though the extent of our action should be bitching and whining on GFY or to just roll over and take asshat's pencildick up our asses.

If you have time to post on this board, you have time to submit comments. Better yet, submit them and also record them in letter form and send them to your reps and senators asking them to put pressure on the admin and let them know that some of us are actually paying attention and do NOT support this type of legislation and regulation.

Well this is the adult business and these are new rules you really have three choices. If you have a bunch of money you can go to court and sue them and get a injunction.
You can deal with the law
You can leave the business.

Photographers have been selling photographs with full models release for years in print.

Also every girl is not Tawny Stone , lets be real here.

Photographers can be stalkers , people that run programs can be stalkers. Checkout girls at walmart can have stalkers. In NY a judge was a stalker. You can cut that down by finding out who the fuck you are doing business with. This is a excuse more than anything else because this industry has been very reckless.

I worked in strip clubs ,jack shacks , dungeons for 15 yrs. Not one stalker hmmmm

As JaceXXX said, make your comments professional.

It would be nice to see this be made a sticky but it seems like only paid sponsors have that right.

Edit: it also seems like you can actually speak to the man in charge of reading the comments (Andrew Oosterbaan) by dialing 1-202-514-5780.

I'm a retard? I was worried about this I called my lawyer said I want to see you . Got in my car drove 8 hrs to Tampa to see him. Have you contacted a lawyer paid money for legal advice for your business. Instead of relying on a fucking chat board for info?
Why are you calling me names ?. Did I call you one name? Does it make you that angry that I am right?

I am not happy about this but its the law and no one is going to help us. Wake up your fucking congressman is not going to rally to protect porn models privacy. Your living in a dream world. No one gives a shit about us. You want to be mad be mad at all the people before us that felt on the net they could do whatever the fuck they wanted and didnt self regulate.

don't dog tony, he is just very worried and very straight forward with his responses, which come off as rude sometimes, but believe me, he is FAR from rude...he is one of the most down to earth guys you will ever meet and will stand up and fight before anyone else here

he just worries a LOT and from his worrying it looks as though he is bitching....but i guarantee you, he is worrying about the same things we are

that is the one thing I have been saying and agree with 100%

from now on we all will just have to be more careful about who we do business with...we being the models and talent...we just cant work for anyone anymore, and the ones we do work with, we will have to trust fully

and as for having the 2257 shit on front of our sites, it sucks, but it is something we are gfoing to have to deal with....unfortunately it is a reality, and no amount of bitching will make it go away

If you look at the post I responded to you will see that I was just explaining something.
I wasn't saying that content providers can totally filter out all the bad apples.

So you'll drive 8 hours to see your lawyer but you won't even consider TRYING to represent your business interests to your elected officials and the current administration and anyone else who DOES should be shot down and is full of naivete? Man, you can't catch a fish if you don't have your line in the water -- you have to at least TRY even if it's improbable that they'll respond in our favor.

Yeah, in that case if, according to you, I'm a self-important idealist living in a dream world, I think you're a retard. You said yourself this has to do with a right-wing moral "christian" agenda (well, you said "a love for jesus") - it has nothing to do with people before us who would not self-regulate.

Retard? Don't get me started.
Yes everyone who feels compelled should write their comments, but to not comply and be prepared for everything and just hope that the law will be stricken down is not smart.

well, i think what most of us are upset about is NOT each other, but this law...and i think if we all use all this negative energy we are projecting at each other, and work together on discussing this in a professional tone, we could come up with some conclusions and decisions....

so, let's do away with this retard shit, it is childish and immature....and fact is John Ashcr0ft is prolly reading this right now laughing at us all

It does have to do with people before us who didn't self regulate.
If companies and individuals who ran adult sites on the internet ran them like actual businesses...professionally...and if they did everything they could to keep adult pictures and videos in password protected directories...and if everyone checked everyone's id and made sure they were over 18...and if they didn't purposely make of age women look 12....then a lot of the shit that's happening now with the government and this industry wouldn't be happening. Or at least it wouldn't be happening to the degree that it is now.

No, I'm not 12 years old - I'm posting on a board called GO FUCK YOURSELF.

Tom_PMs 07-25-2004 09:05 AM

It's somewhat water under the bridge, true.
But it's undeniable that people who sell content could be more discriminating in who they accept money from. But thats the rub. It's their income.

I'd love to see only paysite owners allowed to purchase anything that falls under 2257. Seriously, it would be sweet. But thats idealistic.

I know I'll be looking for sponsors who provide promotional material which does NOT fall under 2257 for affiliates. Imagine that, keeping samples non explicit, pay for the "good stuff".. what a concept :)

When you make your comments, make sure you estimate the dollar amount that this proposed change will have on your business.

keyboard warrior 07-25-2004 10:05 AM

new 2257 is for you pedo sites.

Tom_PMs 07-25-2004 10:39 AM
