seo question.
one of the sites im running has been up for about 2 months, (at the most ) and as I was going through my awstats i noticed this..
Links from an Internet Search Engine - Full list - Google 3372 - Yahoo 1563 - MSN 94 - AOL 16 - Other search engines 16 - AOL 12 - AltaVista 9 - Netscape 8 - AllTheWeb 8 - Lycos 5 - Excite 4 - Web.de 3 - Mamma 2 Is that good for 2 months? i search through google and yahoo and find the page every now and then and on my top referring terms im sometimes not even on the first 5 pages. im just curious if this is a good sign from a newer site because my goal was to get a lot of SE traffic. which at this moment the SE traffic itself is pretty decent. |
when you search in google for "link:www.yoursite.com"
you get over 3000 results? if it's so, that's impressive |
no, it means google has 3k pages indexed with my site, i believe...
|
no it means you have 3372 hits that originalted from google.com
this could be 'actual' hits or it could be spiders image calls etc etc |
ok. well then i wonder why they call it "links", stupid awstats.
|
That's a kinda good traffic...
But not much GO back to your stats and chekc the most often searched words... Then go to google and see what position you are in for those terms... If you get first page results you're doing ok. |
