My new demo reel.
http://redshoe.net/samples/RedShoe-new_demo.wmv
As most of you know I'm out on my own now. Although I've turned down some in-office work offered by some sponsors, I am looking for more at-home work. Though currently I have a lot of work, I'm always looking for more. "I'm Red Shoe, bitch. Check my reel BITCH!" |
Getting an error saying can't play the video because the file is corrupted.
Just me or anyone else? |

I actually filmed it while I was editing for BootyILike.com. So after I edited it. I reshot a lot of it with the demo reel as the project instead of the porn. That's why in some shots you can see a foreshadow of the cuts you're about to see. It's me... editing me. LOL Some of the day stuff took about a couple of hours to set up the tripod and get lots of just various shots. Then another 30 minutes fucking around with closeups of the keyboard, and mouse, and other various closeups. Lots of fucking with rack focusing, stuff like that. Then at night I shot again so the room would be dark. So in all, I dunno... 3 or 4 hours to shoot. A couple of sessions to edit, only because I made a million changes since I started. |
noice:thumbsup

This reel is good. That song is from the Snatch soundtrack, which is the movie I used to study for its editing style. I built a CFF trailer based on that style and it was then that I broke out of the traditional style of editing. So, that song and demo reel are top notch in my book. |

but I reformated my computer and went to grab it again and they had updated the real :helpme BTW what pogram are you using to edit with? I took a course on 3d max about 2 years ago and we did some editing in combustion... I almost had more fun with the video editing than I did with the 3d. I'm planing to start getting into it pretty soon |

People have come to me to edit their trailers and movies lately, and that's cool I appreciate all the work. And then there are some people that I WISH would come to me. You, Foolio are one of them. You know what I'm talkin' 'bout. Crockett, my mistake that song is from LockStock and 2 smoking barrels. Another one I study for it's editing. Both those films and Adam Jones from tool (who was inspired by the brother Quay) are whom I'm heavily influenced by. |
RedShoe awesome work dude !! Have you got any advice you could give me about video editing ? books to read, programs to use etc. I'm interested in video editing more as a hobby than anything else.
Your work is awesome :thumbsup |
boredom. The more bored you are the more likely you are to try new and crazy things. It's during that time that you'll be most creative.
YOU CAN'T RUSH CREATIVITY!!! Some people just don't understand that. |

LOL, I did answer your question, man. :) Boredom. I'm completely self taught and I learned after just sitting here and learning the software.
Sheer boredom. I 've never read a book on editing. I woulnd't even know what book to read. You just have to sit and learn it. There is nothing more to it than that. :) Watch a lot of movies I guess. I watch about 2 movies a day. (I've got "My Blue Heaven" on right now). Just watch movies and see how they're cut. Do you notice the editing? Does it draw attention to itself? Do things flow? Do they ever cross the 180 line? All I use is Vegas and PhotoShop. I create my text in PhotoShop and animate and edit in Vegas. I've been wanting to learn Avid, but I'm not sure if my end result will vary. I don't have 3 video editing programs. Just one Vegas, I've never even tried anything else. I saw a guy at the place I used to work using Final Cut pro but it was 10X slower to work with and looked 10x harder to use. I like vegas for the flow it allows me to have when the moment hits. I can sit here for an hour and not do too much then suddenly something clicks and I can edit lots of transitions and just flow. Vegas is real time so I can toss on transitions and edit while the video is playing and have ZERO rendering times. Even the Final cut pro guy was impressed. |
