Why not promote a single standard approach?

Why should every webmaster have to pay an attorney for the same advice, over and over again, throughout the industry? 99% of this is just going to be rehashing, padding the pockets of lawyers. This country is chokeing on lawyers already.

The law should be clear. The rules should be clear. There ought to be standardized officially issued and approved contracts.
And only one right way to keep records. And all that should be spelled out in detail on the Justice Dept's website, with model releases in PDF form available for download. Use them, and there will be no disputes. (or draw up your own, if you need something customized, but open yourself up to gambling in court)

All I wanted to know is what the changes were. Not being a content producer, I confess I hadn't given 2257 much thought. I keep all the records provided to me by the content providers I buy from (copy of models' license, models' release) and I assume it will be enough. (Although I bought most of my content way before they started doing this consistently). Apparently, it no longer is and I was just asking for some clairification. I'd rather get the 'cliffs' notes' from a content producer in the know than read all the legal mombo-jumbo put forth by the DOJ, especially when I'm drinkin'. :1orglaugh
