After the 9/11 Nostradamus hoax, he's just lost all credibility (though his book sales probably skyrocketed!).

But, I agree that he did drugs. Lots and lots of drugs.

I remember a show about him in the 80's that said a attack would
take place in 1999 in NY and a missile will hit a mountain and make it flat....... I remember because a friend and myself would fight over it. I never saw that show again it was on the history
channel at the time I think.. I say pretty close for me....

Missle hitting a mountain and making it flat? What mountain were they talking about? Like Mt. Rushmore or something? '99 came and went and nothing happened, dude. Except a lot more people playing EverQuest.

There is a documentary with I think Orsen Wells where he says a great fireball will engulf the great city of the new country and the twins will fall. The third world war will be ignited by the man who wears a blue turban and has a moon and a star on his flag.

I guess it's all how you interpret it- but that documentary was done in the 80's, there's not a world war.. yet, and Osama's Turbin isn't blue, but the moon and the star are for islam- the twins would be the twin towers and the great City NY. Pretty dead on in my opinion.

He also said that we could change the future through understanding of our common man, even if the guys a fraud, I believe this to be true.:thumbsup

His stuff was written in quatrains, and it is very hard to understand. The worst part about it is that you can read it several times, and get something new each time.

He buddied-up with a guy named Jules-Cesar Scaliger. Scaliger was a botany freak and
a social outcast. One theory is Scaliger was a drug addict and taught Nostradamus how
to make some very powerful hallucinogens and the two of them were getting stoned all
the time. Scaliger got Nostradamus to move in with him and gave Nostradamus access to
a secret library Scaliger had. Nostradamus was obsessed with these ancient texts and
poured over them for months and then started tweaking Scaliger's hallucinogen to make
him trip-out to higher levels of the ultimate stone.

That's when Nostradamus started to fuck around with the copper bowl and rod while he
tripped-out and this is where Nostradamus claims to have had the visions into the future
and the past. Kind of a acid head's time T.V.

...if you read them for what they are they are nothing more than the equivalent of modern
day horoscopes, vague ramblings of a stoner. The guy was just another rich kid who
tripped-out too much and most likely believed the shit he himself thought he saw.

If you've ever done a natural hallucinogen like shrooms or peyote you know how real
hallucinations seem to be when your trippin' out. The thing is that most of us never
put pen-to-paper about out drug trips and Nostradamus did.

You want to impress me with predictions then say "John H. Smith will blow up the world
on March 16 2005 at 17:02 PST buy drilling down to the earth's core with an egg beater"
instead of some vague statement like "J.S. will be the anti Christ and end the world in the
year of the platypus".

I saw a interesting documental about him on History Channel with a very objective point of view.

It's very intersting seeing how we can never predict the future reading his notes, we only can adapt his poor text imaging some of the actual events that just happened. Anyway their notes are not exactly a descriptive as we want it to consider it a prophet.

I think that we has a maniatic guy who leaves his family to write bullshit on a closet room in his house.

The problem is not even just the quatrains... its simply the fact that its written in _OLD FRENCH_ and basically NOONE has good knowledge of old friggin french now-a-days.. All those translations you see are ALREADY interpretations. And then you go and INTERPRET interpretations.. There are like 5 different translations of each quatrain for every language the book was ever translated to. To REALLY go through it you have to read it in old french or at least french. And that is not going to be very easy for most of us I think...

The guy is a fraud people, ALL "matching" quatrains were found AFTER the incident. You know how easy that is?! There is so much crap in his books its amazing...

He himself wrote to his son that ALL of his quatrains are based on HALUCINATIONS he got when doing DRUGS. The guy is a drug addict, he just wrote down stuff about all those sparks and shit the missfire'd nerves caused in his brain.

Yup, but keep in mind the "believers" dont want to hear this. This is a minor detail for them. I hate people.
