Would you pay $800 for 10Mbps?
Im considering a host who is going to charge me $800 for 10Mbps and a P4 2.4 w/1MB cache, 1GB DDR, 120GB HD..
I have heard very good things about their support, and theyre totally proactive, the only thing I have to worry about is maintaining my sites... theyre offering an 85ms national monthly average latency to the entire usa... 100% guaranteed uptime on their network and their power... and they give you back like 5% of your bill for every 10 minutes of downtime... Lots of hosts I've seen just offer more bandwidth if theres downtime... So is this worth it? I can get 25mbps for $920 from the same host.. but I only need 10Mbps for now... what you guys think? What would you want to be included for the price? (im not saying theyre very expensive, ive seen higher, plus ive heard a lot of good from their current customers) |
Hmm... it depends on the host, if they are extremely trustworthy, have premium and are known for having impecible [sp?] uptime, then yes.
If they have downtime, and support is sloppy then no, because 10mbps goes for as little as $300 nowadays.. but this usually comes at a price of its own.. poor support, cheap bandwidth etc etc. |

Its what we'd charge if we really liked someone. But we're far superior to almost every host who posts here. You get what you pay for.
